We've named our little Hollywood Hills gem Sapphira's Nest and feathered it with lavender, daisies, fruit trees (help yourself), and all the comforts of home (including a giant 80” projector screen for TV). Our home features a chef’s kitchen and plenty of outdoor areas for you to enjoy – a dining and lounge area that seats eight with propane grill and a second outdoor lounge area with a built-in sofa, a gas-fed fire pit, spa, and beautiful canyon views.

Our home has 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. You can easily sleep 5. The bathroom has been renovated with modern ceramic tile and Grohe shower fixtures. The shower has a rain showerhead and a hand shower. There is a queen-sized bed in the master bedroom. Our second bedroom has a makeup table with dressing room lights that can also be used as a desk. A chaise folds out to a twin sized bed. A convertible sofa in the great room turns into a full sized bed.

The great room has the kitchen, living space, and dining area all in one room, leading to one of the outdoor patios. There is a very open feel with amazing outdoor light streaming in through a pair of west-facing floor-to-ceiling bay windows and south-facing French doors.

We’ve created a well-appointed gym for you at the base of the property. It provides another private place for you to get away and reinvigorate.

We think you’ll find our location in the hills is really special. At night it’s quiet. You’ll see and hear birds every day, not traffic. You can take a nice walk from the house up into the hills and meet neighbors doing the same or find the Hollywood Reservoir just a ten minute walk from your front door. Don’t be surprised if you bump into a celebrity or two. The reservoir is a bit of an undiscovered secret in LA. You may see deer and coyote there (once even a buck and a bobcat!), or just take in the beauty as you stroll around Lake Hollywood. Also a great place for jogging if you’re in the mood.

When you’ve had enough tranquility and peace, Hollywood is literally 5 minutes away. The Hollywood Walk of Fame, Hollywood & Highland Mall, the W Hotel on Vine, the Hollywood Bowl, and of course Universal Studios are all right in your backyard. All the clubs and restaurants LA has to offer are at your fingertips. You can take easy day trips to anywhere in LA from here, as the 101 freeway is less than 5 minutes away. You’re just 15 minutes from Downtown or 45 minutes to Santa Monica and the beach. West Hollywood is 20 minutes away; Beverly Hills is 30.

Or go nowhere. Lounge on the outdoor sofas and relax, turn on the fire pit at night, hop in the spa, or just chill out inside and watch a movie on the 80” projector screen. Come and enjoy.

One last thing – if you’re flying into LA, we highly recommend flying into Burbank airport if you can. It’s much closer than LAX (20 minutes vs 45) and much less crowded. You’ll be happy you did.

About Ezra Cruz

We're a couple of hopeless romantics. I grew up in NYC, she in Corsica, and we met in the south of France when we were teens, fell in love at first sight, had a cross-atlantic romance for four years, lost each other for twelve, then one day she found me on Facebook. I told her I was still in love with her, had never stopped thinking about her, and get on a plane. And she did. We got married 2 years later and moved out of our Hollywood Hills nest when Sophie was pregnant with Sapphira. Sapphira's nest.

I lived in a Hollywood apartment for 4 years before buying this home in the hills. I used to go jogging around the Hollywood Reservoir and think it would be great to own a home up here one day. It's so peaceful and quiet, but you're just 5 minutes from the action. It made living in LA so much more . . . livable.

What makes this house unique

We love the green all around you. The views, the songbirds you'll hear and see every day, the quiet, the fire pit, the spa, lounging outside on a hot sunny day with a book, lounging inside at night and watching a movie on the 80' projector screen, and being 5 minutes from a supermarket, great restaurants, and the Hollywood Bowl. We LOVE the Reservoir.
