Set in the trendy arty district of the Raval, next to the Museo d'Art Contemporari de Barcelona (MACBA), pedestrian streets, with boutiques selling fashion clothing, skate kit and vintage clothing. Small shop selling scents and soaps. Specialist food and wine shops, organic grocers selling local produce. Hundreds of cafe, restaurants and bars, some bars dating back 100 years to others more modern. The area is a hub of activity of young people trying to create and sell their unique ideas, as well as some old established businesses, such as cobblers and carpenters all mixed in together. The famous market La Boqueria is just 5 minutes walk away and the nearer market of Sant Antoni is just 1 minute from the flat. There are churches, and museums to visit and one could spend hours wandering the streets discovering fascinating little shops and businesses. Leather shoes laces and copies of old newspapers all being sold. Everytime I go back we discover some wonderful treat. There are 3 major metro stops within 5 minutes walk from the flat. Placa Catalunya, L'universitat, and Ronda Sant Antoni. The square infront of the MACBA is where the youngster stateboard, and my teenagers spend hours watching them perform their amazing daring feats! The area is situated in a perfect position for seeing real old Barcelonian life and close to all the major attractions. You can easily walk everywhere. Las Ramblas is just 5 minutes from the flat. If you want to go to Sitges (about 45 mins from Barcelona) you can just catch the train from Placa Catalunya. There is also a car park just a couple of blocks from the flat.
