Completely Renovated 2 Bedroom Flat In A Wonderful Art Deco Building

A designed and newly renovated two bedroom apartment in a 1934 Art Deco building, in a historically protected area of London. We have just listed this property and are very excited to have it available for you.

The apartment has a bright private living room with abundant light and 2 separate bedrooms, perfect for couples or families with full privacy. There is also a modern, well equipped kitchen and a bathroom with bathtub/shower, as well as HD TV and Wifi. The apartment is about 50 square meters.

The Gwynne House building where the apartment is located, is right in the middle of campus of St Mary's College of University of London. So the immediate neighbours are the St Augustine at Phillips church/library, Centre of the Cell research lab, and other Lecture halls etc.

5 minutes walk away is the Whitechapel Art Gallery (the most important modern art gallery after Tate Modern Art Museum), and Brick Lane (with lots of pubs, restaurants). 10 minutes walk away are Shoreditch and Hoxton areas, the trendiest parts of London with pubs, restaurants, cafes, designer and vintage clothing shops.

There is a historic pub/bar right next door, with friendly staff.

Transport: Excellent transport links and easy access: London is a big city - you will enjoy London more (and save costs!) by staying in the real heart and centre of London. For transport, the flat is 2 minute walk to Whitechapel Station. Stansted airport trains goes directly to Liverpool Street which is nearby, or you can take an express bus directly from the airport to the doorstep. London City Airport is 15minutes cab ride away (also on metro system). From Gatwick or Luton, direct trains go to Blackfriars, then a few stops on the District line. From Heathrow, the Express takes you to Paddington, and from there one direct metro line.

Two private bedrooms plus a very comfortable living room for two more travellers make this ideal for small groups of up to five (or even six, if you all get along!) The building and apartment were fully renovated in late 2012, so everything is very new.

Enjoy some of the more dynamic parts of London, within easy walking distance to the actual City of London ('square mile'), hence Tower of London and other important sites.

COZY RETREAT - A FASCINATING, DIVERSE NEIGHBORHOOD

Our hosts were welcoming & helpful, pointing us to some great restaurants, cafes, & pubs in the area, other points of interest in the area, and helping us in various ways. The neighborhood is diverse and felt quite safe. Our lodging was fun (art-deco!), clean, with everything we needed, including separate sleeping spaces (a bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room) for our teenage and not-quite-teen daughters. Also, the place is fairly quiet, and felt secure. In the area we enjoyed: Tayyabs is a fantastic Punjabi restaurant, quick service, incredible food -- as a family of four we went at 5PM, arriving before the rush. Nude Espresso in nearby Brick Lane area serves really great breakfasts and truly excellent espresso (complete with foam art), plus a great vibe and conversation. We went there every day of our stay! The Good Samaritan Pub next door had tasty pub food and an enjoyable atmosphere (again, for our family of four, it worked best to go early -- at 5PM). I would absolutely recommend this property to friends and relatives, and we would stay there again! Our stay in London was great fun, thanks to this cozy, restful place, easy access to Tube and bus lines, and central location. Thank you, Rolf and Mok!

A PLEASANT PLACE TO STAY

Located in a diverse, working class and gentrifying section of London, this apartment is conveniently near the Whitechapel metro station as well as a major bus road. Sainsbury's and many small shops are nearby ; but there are few restaurants, except one very good Indian one. The apartment is small, comfortable and quiet with a queen bed in each of the bedrooms and with an excellent shower/tub bathroom. The living area has a flat screen TV and a small but adequate dining area. Everything is new and spotless. We very much enjoyed our stay here, and very much appreciated the help of Moc and Rolf in getting oriented to the area.

AMAZING APARTMENT

I stayed one week in this lovely and amazing-designed apartment. The apartment was very clean and I really felt at home there. The furniture is very modern and in the kitchen I found everything I need. The landlords are very nice and gave me loads of information of the area. City of London and Shoreditch/Hoxton with lots of nice pubs and shops were only a few minutes away.
I will definitely come back sometime!

WUNDERSCHÖNE OSTERN 2013

Wir 4 (2 Erwachsene, 2 Jugendliche) waren über Ostern in London und haben die sehr moderne und gepflegte Wohnung genossen. Der Empfang durch die Vermieter war sehr freundschaftlich. Wir bekamen viele hilfreiche Tipps. In nächster Umgebung sind viele gute und günstige Restaurants, ein typisch britischer Pub sowie ein gut bestückter Supermarkt. Busstationen und U-Bahn in Fussnähe. Tower bridge in 20 Minuten zu Fuss zu erreichen (man kann natürlich aber auch mit dem Buss fahren...). Die Wohnung ist sehr gut bestückt, Küchenzeile top modern (sogar mit Waschmaschine), Wlan funktionierte zur Freude unserer Töchter. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

"We are a group of 4 persons (2 adults, 2 teenagers), and stayed during Easter in London, and enjoyed this property which is very modern and well kept. The reception by the owner was very friendly. We received many helpful tips. In the vicinity are many good and cheap restaurants, a typical British pub and a well-stocked supermarket. Bus and subway are a short walking distance. Tower bridge to reach in 20 minutes on foot (but of course you can also go by bus ...). The apartment is very well equipped, very modern kitchen (even with washing machine), WiFi worked well to the delight of our daughters. We look forward to coming back."
