AMAZING DESIGN; GREAT LOCATION; HELPFUL HOST

  • 5 of 5
The apartment was exactly as depicted - a relief for a first time renter. Although the apartment is not large, it is immaculately maintained, very clean, and very well designed - all of our needs (a family of four) were satisfied and the comfort level was equal to any hotel. Every inch of this apartment has been thought out, and the beautiful details of the historic building are maintained, but co-habitate with the modern conveniences. The layout is perfectly accomodating for different activities - cooking, working, reading, etc. Kitchen and bathroom are top notch in design and all appliances are modern. It was easy to bring the second bed out for the evening; again, the apartment is designed to store this bed out of the way during the day, in a hidden nook. Moveable walls permit the levels of privacy necessary for the bedroom and there is plenty of space to move about with the second bed out. Lighting is well suited to task areas.

One of the most amazing features of this apartment is that even though it is close to Republique, and there are about 15 cafes within a 5 minute walk, the apartment is on the back and there was virtually no noise disturbance, even with the windows open. As a result, you are in the middle of the lively neighborhood, but not at all disturbed. Fresh air easily comes in with virtually no street noise.

The helpful managing agent gave full and complete instructions for everything in the apartment, and has created a helpful guide specific to this apartment that enhanced our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Paris, in great part due to the convenience and comfort of these accomodations. I heartily recommend this apartment to singles, couples and even families of four.

FANTASTIC WEEK IN PARIS

  • 5 of 5
We spent a week in this fantastic apartment in February this year and it was everything that it promised from the advert, and more.

From the start it was easy to find (simple Metro rode from the Gare du Nord) and Sebastien, who was a very friendly and helpful host, met us there. The lift is helpful with the luggage, especially as I am the one doing all the heavy lifting.

The apartment was very clean and tidy, bigger than it might seem from the pictures and vey well equipped. The well placed plug sockets are a real benefit, if like most tourists everything you bring requires some sort of charging.

The sofas were more comfortable than they looked to me in the pictures and I was happy sitting on them. The bed was superb, I often don't sleep well in strange places but this was fine. It is also very quiet, very little noise in the building and none from outside and it is well insulated. Because of this the apartment remained comfortably warm without the need to turn the heating on.

The location is good with access to two nearby Metro stations, the nearest being Temple and it is in what would have been the grounds surrounding the now demolished Knights Templar fortress. Republique is just around the corner and there are shops and restaurants there, Monoprix's can be recommended anywhere and the one here is one of the larger stores. Bit nothing is too far and we often walked down to, or back from Hotel de Ville.

In summary this was a very easy week for us, and I choose to come to Paris often, most years in February, and I can happily recommend this to anyone. I would be happy to return.

Simon

MY FIRST PARIS TRIP

  • 5 of 5
I have just returned from my very first trip to Paris over Easter week. I met my son there who is studying abroad in Madrid. About the apartment - I loved this place! Modern but rustic with exposed beams on the ceiling, a painted stone wall. Just the right amount of space for 2-3 people, with 2 sofas, a dining room table, Italian kitchen with bkfast bar and stools, a queen/king bed and pull out full size roll away bed - both very comfortable. The bathroom was tiny but efficient, stall shower and both a hand-held shower head and a rainwater shower head, and the water heated quickly. The only complaint was that you have to step up into the shower, kind of awkward. Unseasonably cold weather this week but the apartment was well-heated. Everything you could want in the way of electrical devices was already in the apartment: a great blow dryer (so ladies, leave your american hair dryer at home), a coffee maker, even with filters and coffee (I bought some great coffee there and left it for the next tenant), flat screen TV, but I didn't turn it on once (watch TV in Paris?) washer/dryer combo. Bedroom is divided from the rest of the apartment by sliding walls which were very cool; a separate dressing room/closet with adequate hangers, an ironing board (interesting steam iron took awhile to figure out).
Apartment was on the second level up not counting the rez-de-chaussee, the first floor, and you walk up a carpeted spiral staircase which was fine. A tiny elevator which is fine to transport your luggage, but which can't accommodate much more than a bag or 2 or two skinny people!
I have to say wonderful things about Sebastien, the manager of the apartment. He was charming and gracious from start to end! He left a book with all the information you could want about how to operate things in the apartment, and with recommendations for restaurants, buying wine and cheese in Paris, and other bits of information. I would add one restaurant, The Blue Elephant, which is a fabulous and beautiful Thai restaurant at 43-45 Rue de la Roquette, Paris 75011, a short cab ride away.
As for the neighborhood, the Marais is so cool, kind of like the west village or soho in NYC. You can walk everywhere, and the closest Metro stop, Republique, is a major connector to other areas in Paris. The directions Sebastien gave me made it easy to take the RER and Metro from de Gaulle to the apartment-only about 9 euros.
I would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you, Sebastien

FANTASTIC APARTMENT IN A GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I spent two weeks in Paris over the Christmas holiday, and this apartment had all of the amenities you would want for an extended stay (or a short one), including a washer/dryer, full kitchen, WiFi, and cable TV. In terms of design, the apartment is just as nice in real life as it looks in the photos. The space was spotless when we arrived, and the towels and bed linens provided were of high quality. And the bed: a full-size memory foam mattress. That was awesome.

There's an elevator, so you don't have to worry about lugging your bags up two flights of stairs, and the building is very quiet. We rarely heard any sounds from the neighbors or the street, even with the windows open.

The surrounding Le Marais neighborhood was great. There are lots of interesting shops, bakeries, cafes and restaurants—including the Enfants Rouges covered food market and the Du Pain et Des Idees bakery—as well as several pharmacies, banks, and a post office immediately nearby. There's a Monoprix (upscale grocery store) right around the corner, and the Republique and Temple Metro stations are less than a five-minute walk away, providing access to five subway lines. Anywhere in central Paris is a 10 to 15 minute Metro ride maximum, and several main cultural sites—Pompidou Centre, Louvre, Notre Dame, Place des Vosges— and their surrounding shopping areas are within walking distance.

Sebastien is a customer service super star. He promptly answered any questions we had about the rental beforehand, and he met us at the apartment when we arrived. He was extremely thorough in going over all of the ins and outs of the apartment, how the appliances work, etc. He also provided a binder with all of that information (even which cable tv channels are in what language), plus emergency contacts, and information on various cafes and restaurants in the neighborhood. And, he speaks fluent English, which made everything that much easier for those of us like myself, who speak all of five words of French on a good day.

I would not hesitate to rent the apartment again or to recommend it to any couple visiting Paris.

PARFAIT !

  • 5 of 5
