Enter through a covered bridge, just off of route 16 to the heart of Jackson and our two bedroom home is located in the center of town. There are two decks over looking the mountains, the Wentworth Golf course, the Wildcat River, the Ellis River, a pond and a park. A few minutes walk to restaurants, pubs, water falls, cross country skiing, hiking and ice skating.
The first floor is an open area with living room, kitchen and a bathroom. The second floor has a master bedroom with a Queen size bed and a kid's bedroom. The underground features a TV and full-size sofa-bed. There is a screened in porch and two open air decks with grill and lawn furniture overlooking rivers and mountains.
We fell in love with the place because of the incredible views, its proximity to the White Mountain National Park, the closest town to the national park and it is one of the only houses in the center of the quaint town of Jackson.
Great location, amazing view from kitchen table, not big but good for 4 or 5 people. Although on first appearance looked clean. We found used tissue in main bedroom bed and old carry out food in open container in freezer. There house keeping service needs to do a more detail job. Bring a coffee pot - could only find espresso machine.
Thank you so much Sarina for sharing your cute house.
The place was just what my sister and the kids needed. On Wednesday we watched the snow, 12" accumulation!!! and cooked all day. Thursday we just indulged and relaxed while the kids watched movies and played games on the den.
The kids skied at Wildcat on Saturday and my sister and I borrowed your snowshoes and walked to Thompson Falls. We all had a great time.
Thank you again, we'll be back.
Contrary to the pictures we had seen online, the front of the house is only several feet from the road which can be noisy and busy at times. Yes, there is a coffee maker (Krups) which is fine if you carry individual coffees with you; we expected a coffee pot. We didn't find the house to be especially clean - the dinette table had several smudges of old food on it, the dish towels were dirty and the cup in the bathroom was very dirty and had a dead bug in it. I didn't find the bathroom to be very private since the window is only a few feet from the sidewalk and has only a light curtain. It didn't appear to be a one-way window but I could be wrong. On the bright side, the location was good with walking trails, a few small shops and restaurants within walking distance.
This little house in the heart of Jackson was exactly what we were looking for - a clean, cozy, and comfortable place to bunk when we weren't outdoors. The kitchen was very clean and master bed was comfy. Would be a tight squeeze for more than 2 adults, but price was great and having a kitchen was better than having to eat all meals out. Can't beat the location!
This house and it's beautiful location really made our weekend away special. Tastefully decorated, it was comfortable and had everything we needed. Morning coffee on the back deck with a view of the town and mountains in the distance was a real highlight. (also visible from inside, at the kitchen table). It was a rare treat to be in such a rural setting and still be able to walk to a selection of restaurants (from fine dining to pub food).
The house is perfectly located in the middle of Jackson village. Rooms are nicely furnished and the living areas is cozy, with views. The house has a nice terrace, facing the Presidential Range. It is so relaxing to sit there with beer in hand, enjoy the sun and mountain views.
You can do so much from here without driving, and everything else is easily accessible with a very short car ride.
The hosts are very nice, and they are a treasure load of hiking and skiing information.
A great place, we would certainly love to come back!
If you've been around, you may feel that you've seen it all. But, if you've never visited Jackson, NH, then you definitely haven't seen and done it all... yet.
Words, nor pictures, can properly describe this beautiful setting. Our property, located in the center of the town, is surrounded by the 800,000-acre White Mountain National Forest giving you room to golf, hike, mountain bike, rock climb, watch for birds and wildlife, swim in a water fall, downhill ski or glide cross country on groomed or back country trails.
Rather relax? Treat yourself to a massage or a day-spa treatment, stroll to the Jackson Falls for a picnic, surprise your loved one with a world-class candlelight dinner, or pub-crawl through the multiple local pubs with daily live music.
Coming with kids? Perfect! You will be only minutes away from StoryLand Amusement Park, Hartman Model Railroad, Mount Washington Auto-road, and the Conway Scenic Railroad.
So, shrug off that 'been there, done that' feeling and discover a new attitude toward exploring the world. In Jackson you can view it from the top of the mountain, find it next to a rushing river, or see it in your child's eyes. Maybe it's nature's way of telling you life is short and beauty is forever.
