NoHo Apartment Rental Photos and Description
Incredible location, incredible building, incredible loft. Sleeps up to 10.
The Silk Studio was built by a Manhattan builder as a private oasis in the middle of the concrete jungle. The 1,100 square feet (100 SM) is meticulously designed and crafted to the smallest detail. The large oversize windows look out on classic cast iron architecture, landmark buildings and a veritable sky garden. The kitchen is as functional as it is beautiful. The bathroom is bliss: from the heated floor, to the five head shower with integrated infrared sauna, to the deep tub which fills in four minutes.
The 'bed-room' is so much more than a room with a bed: it is a sound-proof oasis with an independent ventilation system and guarantees a restful sleep anytime of the day or night (as proven by high-tech sleep analysis.)
The main loft can be used as you see fit: lounging, entertaining, yoga, dancing, sleeping, photo or video sessions and art shows have all been done here. No need to worry about making noise, as the entire loft: floor, walls and ceiling have been engineered and built to isolate sound and vibration. If you want to hear the city, just open the windows.
The Bose surround sound system is built in and powered by a Marantz amplifier, for music even a connoisseur can appreciate, just plug in your tunes (iPod, phone or computer) and enjoy.
The structural steel column is history exposed: built of Carnegie steel in 1908 and hot riveted by teams of 'pitchers and catchers' that installed the rivets while red-hot to ensure a solid composite column when they cooled.
The lobby of The Silk Building is an artwork on it's own merit, one of Richard Haas' early masterpieces and the building itself has been home to stars like: Brittany Spears, Cher, Richard Gere and Richard Simmons.

The Silk Studio is both home base and labor of love for me.
Intentionally chosen and built out, to be an oasis in the concrete jungle, with truly unique details as well as uncommon attention to detail.
Currently, I travel over 90% of the time, some for work, some for pleasure and sometimes just to get lost.
It's a pleasure for me to share the loft, with other open minded people who wish to have a genuine New York experience.
After years of building for Manhattan clients, the time came to build my own home. I sought out a property with very specific criteria of location, building, exposure, access and space. I fell in love with The Silk Studio for all that it was and all that it wasn't (built). The demolition removed everything to the building's very structure and with it 100 years of floors and walls. Only afterwards, did I design the features and the space itself.
Construction was carried out meticulously by me and my talented crew during the winter of 2008, with tweaks still continuing today. No expense was spared in materials and no detail was rushed in execution.
I believe quality is self-evident once experienced and all those who have visited The Silk Studio agree.
