The chalet's large open floor plan is perfect for entertaining the whole family with the centrally located kitchen situated between two large living spaces. At one end of the chalet, the living room displays high vaulted ceilings with large windows overlooking the forest. At the other end, the game room is stocked with board games, toys for the kids, foosball, and air hockey. Perfect for a family game night around the fire. The large wooden deck wraps around the entire lower level to connect the family together for BBQs and beautiful views of the forest.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy the chalet's upstairs master bedroom which has its own private deck overlooking the forest and river. The master also includes a log king-sized log bed, an en-suite bathroom with soaking tub, and tile shower with private forest views. Listen to the soothing sounds of the Salmon River while you read a book in the reading nook in this luxurious master suite.
The main floor of the cabin has 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms-enough room for the whole family to spread out and relax. The bedrooms include: the ‘Golf Room’ with a log king-sized log bed, the ‘Cabin Room’ with two twin sized log beds, and 'The Bear Den' with two bunk-beds for the kids to enjoy.
Love nature? Take a hike on the nearby The Bonanza Trail (#786). The trailhead is only a half-mile away from the cabin, no need to drive- just take a short hike to your hike! The Bonanza trail follows scenic Cheeney creek and goes past the old abandoned Bonanza mine. Other nearby scenic hikes include: The Salmon River Trail, Ramona Falls, and the Mirror Lake Trail with stunning reflections of Mt Hood.
The Salmon River Chalet is close to world class skiing and snowboarding- just 15 minutes away- with numerous ski resorts located on & around Mt Hood. Ski Bowl, Timberline, and Mt Hood Meadows are easily accessible and offer extensive terrain, high speed lifts, and full service amenities. Timberline is America's only year-round ski resort, and Mt Hood Ski Bowl offers the largest night skiing area in America.
In the summer, there is excellent mountain biking, including purpose built trail systems and even chair lift-assisted downhill terrain at Ski Bowl. The Sandy River Trail alone contains more than 15 miles of purpose built single track trails appealing to a variety of difficulty levels.
The cabin sits directly on the beautiful Salmon River which is fed by Mt. Hood's glaciers and contains some of the best fly fishing in Oregon. Alpine lakes are also nearby and feature great fishing, hiking, bird watching, and photo opportunities.
