Family of six - now 'empty nesters'.
Love the outdoors - family of hikers, climbers, x-country and downhill skiers. Had a great time as well at Santas Village, Clarks Trading Post (Bears) and many others including the water amusement park in the summer - 'Whale's Tale'
Helene purchased this house in 1992
Views are spectacular.
We are a family of outdoors people. Love to ski Cannon and Loon, but moved over to Bretton Woods as the first son and later, triplets were born.
Began slowly building in 1992. Finished the interior etc. around 2004. Linwood Homes of Vancouver provided the materials. Appliances were put in between 2003 and 2011. Flat screen 43' and 31' TVs are from 2013 and 2014. We had a 54' but it fell to the floor. Couches are from 2010 or newer, Most bedroom furnishings are newer as well.
Three are newer double bed frames from IKEA, a large Queen (Not Ikea) with a firm Serta mattress and a bunk bed. All mattresses are newlike and tops in comfort.
Very rarely used - moved overseas in 2004.
We have a professional cleaning company to take care of the laundry, paper towels, toilet paper and cleaning of the interior of the rental. A local company plows and sands and makes sure there is a bucket with sand. We do not use salt.
We can pay a person to meet with you on arrival and provide keys to access the premises.
Originally planned on building a cabin heated by a wood stove overlooking the Presidential Range - but as the children arrived, our plans changed and an oil furnace with forced hot water was a wise choice. We recently installed another well (artesian) in the Summer of 2014. A new hot water heater, LG Side loading washer/dryer and filter system was added in 2012 or so.
This is the perfect place to relax, enjoy the view and recharge the batteries.
Less than a spirited walk to the downtown of quaint Bethlehem.
Relax and view the amazing Mt. Washington inside - take a leisurely stroll down the lane, go play golf in one of the many nearby golf courses, hike, ski downhill and cross country, snowmobile, swim in the Town seasonal pool, ice skate, roller blade, play basketball or tennis on very nice Town facilities and a whole lot more.
Private - quiet but not secluded location.
Ten minute drive to the main shopping areas of Littleton. Outlets 45-50 minutes (North Conway)
We had an amazing stay at your home with our six children for 11 nights. The house was so neat, clean, beautiful and comfortable.
This was the third time we have stayed in this lovely home. This time we discovered the "secret" snowshoeing trail at the end of the road! I confess some ambivalence about writing a well-deserved glowing review: if I do, more folks will come and we may have a harder time making a reservation; if I don't, others will miss out on a very special vacation spot.
Kids had a great time. We are going to make this an annual event for the family.
Location was great, views were breathtaking and the home charming. Very clean upstairs and downstairs. Very well maintained property and I particularly enjoyed the little blue Lazy-Boy in the upstairs living room.
Openness of the place was very special. Felt like we were outside with the big windows. Temps outside were -16 F but place was warmer than the thermostat setting and the home weather tight with no drafts or cold areas.
The plow person was very helpful with extra sand in the driveway as well as in the Home Depot container and metal "Campbell's" soup can.
Kids had a great time.
They loved the TEAM USA banner in the downstairs family room. Everyone slept great! Loved the bunk room.
We like strong coffee. Coffee maker was a new high end Cuisinart that prepared our Pete's coffee grounds to perfection. Microwave worked fine for us.
We watched our recorded Super Bowl XLlX NE Patriots on both flat screen TVs and relived the moment of Butler ensuring Seattle's defeat while it was snowing outside.
The outside lights/floodlights took a while to heat up because it was so cold outside. We were told to leave them on instead of switching them on and off due to the special "energy saving" feature.
Owner arranged to have a broken light switch replaced in the master bedroom - someone must have smashed into it with their laptop case.
WIFI was fast and the Dish TV programming was pretty good.
It was very helpful to have you pay someone to personally meet us and provide the keys to the place on arrival.
Thanks so much,
A family of legal eagles
Even went sledding!
We are a couple that normally travels and stays above the notch in the summer and fall for hiking. Love to stay in owner rented homes. We can not be cooped up in a hotel room. This is a great place and well worth booking.
For additional information we had the Hospitality link as well as the information kit the owner provided. Any questions like the TV remote after I dropped it, the owner was very easy to reach on the phone, email and iMesage.
We were greeted by a pensioner that provided a set of keys and explained the set up, the weather forecast and told us to contact the owner for any reason including additional questions. Let me say this:
Place was well cleaned, beds were very comfortable and the view was perfection. Furnishings were newer than my own vacation place on the shore. New TVs, WiFi, and Parabola programming from DishTV and even a brand new Cuisinart Coffee maker. We ended us using the smaller Mr. Coffee. I noticed the cleaning person put away the appliances in the cabinets to open up the kitchen counters.
Couches were very comfortable and the owner had changed the covers to a tan set. There was a loft! It was not accessible but I managed a peek.
Also noticed a white set of couch covers downstairs in the main closet. In the linen closet there were plenty of bathroom towels, sponges and other cleaning equipment. Even extra rolls of toilet paper and paper towels were there.
Place was warm and toasty despite the -20F temperature outside. Very nice sitting by the big windows enjoying the views.
No problems getting into the house. Plow person sanded the driveway and there was extra sand in the orange bucket at the driveway. Plow person actually calls the house to let us know he is there to take care of the driveway.
We had a wonderful stay with our loved golden retriever.
Will both be back this Summer or Fall to see the changes in the seasons.
First off, this place gets a 5 star for the view and location. It is exactly like the pictures and made our trip all worth while. Please note we have rented six other homes on this site, so we know what to expect. Now as to why we are giving this only 3 stars.
1) The appliances are not in good working condition:
The coffee maker was not working nor did the microwave. We found this very frustrating as we all drink coffee and who doesn't need a microwave. Regarding the microwave, you could for example get some buttons to work and get the microwave working but not all of the buttons work. For example, we wanted to just heat something for a minute, but none of the buttons worked until we pressed the button for 5 minutes, which in fact ended up being the two minute button.
2) Lack of amenities:
They informed us that bedding towels etc would be provided which was great. They provided one roll of bounty paper towels for 10 people, also an inconvenience when trying to clean the house.
3) The pathway to the door is very steep:
We arrived when it was icy and snowy, therefore the pathway down to the door was very slippery. We asked if they had any salt to put on the path they said no and that we could get salt and put it down ourselves if we like. For us, we had an infant and two small children that we had to get down the path safely. When going to a vacation home the last thing you want to do bring is salt or sand. As a homeowner that should be a safety precaution provided. Just as having a fire extinguisher at home as a safety precaution so is having salt and sand as a necessity for a non paved, no stairs pathway to their doorway.
4) The furniture in the house is very dated:
The couches in the main living room, the furniture in the basement, and the furniture/dressers in the bedrooms are all very outdated. There were two plain white cloth couches in the living room that did not match the hardwood floors. It made us feel like we were walking on egg shells making sure not to get anything on the white couches. This also took away from the coziness of the place. The beds in the bedrooms were very small, therefore not too comfortable.
Overall, we enjoyed our trip very much, but it is these small details that make a vacation 5 stars and makes someone feel comfortable and at a home away from home. We feel not much is being invested back into the property.
This was a perfect rental for three families traveling together! The owner was easy to talk to and provided information about the area. The views are breathtaking and the house is very clean. Its open floor plan allowed for plenty of space for the children to play...the dog loved the yard and playing in the snow. The owner's assistant is also very kind and helpful... Great rental!
I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
I was very happy with the location.
The vacation rental was spotless.
The owner and his assistance were very helpful.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
