Home in the heart of Paris

  • 5 of 5
Before submitting my review I did read other comments on the apartment and I have say that if there were anyone who had problems with the apartment , for sure Johan and his team did all the best to solve it as our stay in Paris and this apartment was more than pleasant. We found it clean and the locks were working properly and, because it was hot we asked for a fan and wee were provided one. I really enjoyed the helpfulness of the Johan`s team in answering all our questions and providing a smooth and quick booking process! I as well have to mention the terrace of the apartment which is just mind-blowing and to be honest I didm`t want to leave the apartment as I loved it so much!

Stunning apartment in the heart of Paris

  • 5 of 5
This apartment is just breathtaking. I spent my vacation here with my family and we absolutely loved how spacious, comfortable and beautiful this apartment is. First of all, I have to say that I loved the building and the fact that it's located at walking distance from the Notre Dame. I also very much liked the way it is furnished, it made me fell like I lived in a different age. The terrace is also one of the strong points of the apartment. It's just great to stay outside at night and enjoy a glass of wine and some French brie in the fresh air. The beds are very comfortable so we slept really well at night. The apartment was also well equipped with all we needed. Johan and his team were very responsive to our needs and answered all questions and concerns. Living in such an apartment made our Paris experience so much better. I sincerely recommend this place and would love to be able to come back someday.

Our Paris home

  • 4 of 5
Like many of the other reviewers of this apartment, there were lots of terrific things about it, but also a few not so great things to consider. Working with Johan and others at his company is easy to do and they are very responsive during planning and upon arrival. When we arrived, we were only given one set of keys and were told that there would be a 500 Euro charge if the keys were lost. This made it difficult to split our group up during our stay but on the second to last day we actually came upon an extra set of keys on top of the fridge. The keys are a challenge to work in some of the doors with three separate locked doors and a coded entry. The second to last night, another tenant broke off a key in one of the locks and our son got locked out. Another tenant arrived home just in time to let him in and told him that you can also enter through the courtyard if the lock/door is broken. Since our son did not have a phone to call us down from upstairs this created a little panic, so please try both entries when you arrive. The apartment itself is beautiful and you will absolutely love the terrace. We sat out there every evening for a drink and some cheese/charcueterie before going out. We only had one towel per person - I think a few extra towels would have been nice. PLEASE NOTE - especially if you are American, other reviewers said there is a dryer but what they mean is a DRYING RACK. We were on a long trip and I booked this flat partially because I could do wash. You will have to hang everything up to dry so be prepared. The apartment is also not air conditioned - we had some very hot weather when we are there and there are no fans at all. This would not have been a problem but we found the street to be very noisy. I am very surprised that other reviewers said it wasn't noisy but maybe they were there with closed windows. People were at the nearby restaurants and groceries until the wee hours of the morning and every word they said traveled clearly and loudly into the apartment. Because of this, even though this place is so beautiful, I would hesitate to rent it again in the summer months. We loved the terrace so much but really did not sleep well on those hot nights. As others have said, the location can't be beat. One block to the Metro and nearby are tons of restaurants and cheese shops and patisseries, etc. You can walk in just minutes to Notre Dame & the Latin Quarter. So, don't hesitate to rent it but bring earplugs!

Unique Property With An Unbeatable Terrace!

  • 5 of 5
This building is so cool – an ancient church converted into private residences. Apartment was very clean and well appointed with everything one could need. I am always inspired to cook with all the fresh markets in Paris and the kitchen was great and well appointed for this. The coffee machine was brand new and we especially enjoyed our morning cup out on the terrace.

The location was excellent, it is very centrally located, and we love the Latin Quarter neighborhood. The terrace was awesome for coffee or wine and snacks or just a bit of people watching. We were able to walk almost everywhere thanks to the central location.

Johan was very nice, answered emails quickly, and helped us feel at ease from booking to arrival. We did not have any problems during our stay so we didn’t need to bother him but I’m sure he would have been at our beck and call.

Great location - the place needs some work

  • 3 of 5
We arrived at 3pm on Sunday, 6/22 and were met exactly on-time by Johan's associate who reviewed all of the amenities. We were give 2 sets of keys. This apartment is in a fantastic location. There are lots shops are just down the block including groceries as well as specialty shops and there is a great open market 4 days a week with fantastic deals!
The Pros: 1.) The balcony is the star of this apartment. We had spectacular weather this past week and left the doors and windows open for fresh air. There is also a retractable awning that is fantastic and covers the whole space.
2.) Beds (2) are very comfortable. One is a full and one is a queen. There is also a full sized futon that my sister slept on which is also great. Extra sheets, pillows & blankets are provided. 3.) Kitchen is fine and it was great to have an ice machine. There is an american sized fridge/freezer which was great to store groceries. There is a small dishwasher and clothing washer in the kitchen - both were easy to work but we needed a little translation help to choose the correct cycle to wash our clothes. There is no dryer but we hung our stuff on a small drying rack on the balcony. 4.)Bedrooms are nice and one has great storage. The smaller bedroom has no storage.
The Cons: 1.)Living room was kind of a mess as compared to the pictures on this website. Gone is the beautiful chandelier in the pictures and in it's place is a $5 Ikea paper lantern. The pictures on either side of the fireplace are a mess. My point in the criticism of this room is that when you book an apartment using pictures as a guide, it should look like those pictures when you check in and it didn't. Plus it smelled like mold so we kept the windows open the whole time.
2.) Bathroom was a mess. The tub/shower is giant but the shower head sprays water literally all over the room which is a real mess to clean up and so slippery. The shower curtain does not close to help keep the water inside the tub area. There is a shelf behind the tub that fills with about 2 inches of water every time you take a shower and you have to bail out the area with a cup. You'll need extra towels to mop up this place and if you are mold sensitive, you may have an issue.
We emailed and called Johan twice but did not hear back until late on the 3rd day about the following items:
-Bathroom - water spraying all over
-Coffee maker was broken
-Stove didn't light
-Keys did not work in the door so we had only 1 complete set but needed 2

Charming Converted Church

  • 5 of 5
Johan was prompt in his communication and easy to converse with. We were met at the apartment by his assistant and she was very friendly. The apartment was wonderfully located and the balcony was fantastic (we cannot wait to come back in the summertime when we can truly enjoy the balcony, Paris is a little cold in December!). The building is SO cool as it is an old church that has been converted into living spaces. There was soap and shampoo in the bathroom as well as plenty of bath towels. The apartment is fairly quiet and you don't hear too much of the city noise. The apartment is very large and in a charming and safe area. There is a great little mini-market just down the street which is open late and the man that works there is friendly and tries to communicate in English. Thanks, Johan, for making our stay so wonderful!
