Carslon Terrace is a group of 6 Victorian Italianate terraces built by Carl Carlson in 1882 at the base of Observatory Hill. 3 of the terraces open on to Kent Street, with a view of Darling Harbour and Barangaroo
These terraces are heritage listed. The centre terrace on Kent Street has kept many of its original features including Kauri Pine Floors, stairs, Cedar fireplaces; and
decorative ceiling in the front room. There are original tiles on the wall in the living room. The terrace has 3 levels.
The terrace has a living room, dining room and a well equipped kitchen on the ground floor, up the stairs to the bathroom with a Claw Foot bath and a couple more steps to the second level of 2 bedrooms The main bedroom has a Queen size bed and the smaller bedroom has double bunk beds. A King size single bed is on the top level. This room opens onto a terrace where you can watch the sunset, a cruise ship coming into Darling Harbour, sip your champagne and a BBQ all at the same time. The
terraces are not suitable for mobility challenged people or very young children as the stairs are at 45 degrees incline.
An ideal location to stay while
visiting Sydney as it is situated within short walking distance to the Opera
House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Darling Harbour, Circular Quay and Centre
Business District (CBD). There is S.H. Ervin Gallery up the steps, as well as
the Sydney Observatory. Sydney Theater Company is 10 mins walk away. The Famous
Rocks market – growers market on Fridays where you can buy fruit and
vegetables, fresh bread, as well as street food; the market extends over the
weekend to include street food, clothes, curios and Australiana
