You are looking at our Burke Mountain getaway. This house was newly built a couple of years ago and features a bunkroom downstairs that can sleep 7, a bedroom upstairs that can sleep 4, and a loft that can sleep 3. There is a 3/4 bathroom on the bottom and central floors. There is also a great room that is attached to a large deck that overlooks the large fielded backyard that is surrounded by woods. There is a full kitchen as well as a grill on the deck. There is also a TV room downstairs with a DVD player, Satellite TV, and Satellite Internet. Outside there is a large field/hill that leads down to a fire pit area. Past the fire pit is a river that is deep enough for wading. There are some short hiking trails on the property and a small cabin further down the river. The property is 3/4 a mile from W. Darling Hill road and is a short pedal to the Kingdom Trail trail system.
This was our second year in a row booking this property for a spring skiing weekend at Burke. My first 5-star review is also posted, and I would say it stands - this is a well maintained property with good amenities. We had 8 people, and the living room and kitchen space are large, and make for a really relaxed, friendly group atmosphere. I can't say enough how awesome the finished log table is, that can comfortably fit 10 people for food, games, etc. There was a slight hiccup when we got to the property, but Bill was responsive and helped us settle everything in a quick, timely manner. We will definitely look to rent again here, great memories!
We recently stayed in this property for a multiple family mountain bike weekend. There were 12 of us staying in the house as well as a few more families joining us for the day. The house was great with plenty of room for the kids to run around and play both inside and out. The house was very clean and well stocked with everything you would need for a weekend away. In the evenings the kids watched some movies and the adults sat by the fire or on the deck and were able to enjoy some quiet kid free time.
We were able to ride from the house to the trails but the younger riders did complain about the hills a bit. The rest of us enjoyed the warm up or warm down part of the ride just fine.
All in all a great place and will rent again for sure!
We booked this property for a Spring skiing weekend, and were excited that we could bring our dog with us, and had a lot of room for friends to stay with us too.
You can tell that a lot of careful craftsmanship went into building this newer property - it is spacious, clean, and has a beautiful view and large backyard, perfect for pets! It is less than 10 minutes away from Burke's main skiing area, and I can imagine it to be an incredible mountain biking rental too.
The living area/kitchen was such an awesome place for gathering for games & food, as there was a huge table that could fit 10+ people, surrounded by seating. A large deck off the living room made the space even nicer to relax in. There was a TV room downstairs as well with a lot of space.
The owner was great to work with, and very responsive to any questions or concerns that we had. I definitely will look to rent this property again in the future on trips to Burke!
This property is located in a secluded area and is surrounded by woods on all sides. The property is on 7 acres and has a large field in the backyard that leads to to a river that is deep enough to wade in. It is located about 5 miles away from Burke Mountain and is less than a mile away from the Darling Hill mountain bike trails. The house itself was newly built in 2010 and has ample space for friends and family. It currently sleeps 14 and has 2 3/4 bathrooms.
