This very clean well maintained ground floor apartment is oceanfront with only a low traffic one way street separating it from the beach. Access is just across the road. Being only less than two blocks to center street,it is an easy walk to restaurants, shops and fishing pier. This unit is part of a triplex. It is fully appointed for cooking. Completely repainted inside Dec. 2011 with the addition of WIFI for your convienence and comfort. Pets under 20lbs are considered with an additional 50 pet fee and notification from guests. This rental has two bedrooms with 1 Queen Bed and 1 Full. It is a perfect get away for a small family or two couples.

Nice place close to beach

Stayed here with my wife and our 2 year old son in June 2012. Nice property, clean and tidy with everything we needed. Beach is just over the road (no properties between front yard & beach). There was propane in the BBQ when we stayed and we used it several times. There is a cupboard with beach toys in which was great for our boy (had his first surf experience on the beach!).
Michael also has a business providing boat charters, we went out for a 2 hour cruise round the island and had a great time seeing Morris Island lighthouse, playing with dolphins, catching fish & crabs. My son still talks about that trip. Close walk to 'downtown' restaurants & shops, but far enough away to be very quiet and very little traffic by the property.

This is a comfortable little get away for a small family and offers a great location, allowing walking to all shops and restaurants. Got out to the beach for a few hours then come back home to snack, nap and relax....then hit the beach again! Quiet area of Folly. Please do give Michael a call if you would like to explore other areas of "The Edge of America." He can take you to Morris Island to hunt shells and crab or on a fishing expedition for the bite of the day:) Vacation or Staycation...Folly is a wonderful destination!!

Best Vacation EVER!

My family stayed at the end of the year last year and I still have the fondest memories of this vacation. Walking distance from all the resturants and down town area. My husband, my 4 year old son and I stayed a weeks time. At the time there was no internet, but it was a nice vacation from work and that wasn't so bad. The place was great then so with a fresh coat of paint I'm sure it looks even more beautiful. There is a shower on the side of the house with access to beach chairs and an umbrella. The best thing was the wagon that all the beach supplies could go in and we pulled it right across the street to the beach where we stayed all day. There isn't a view of the beach from the apartment, but you can walk across the street and there it is! it was a wonderful and we would still stay again.

Lovely Rental

This was a lovely little apartment and was exactly what we needed for our visit! Having the internet was also very nice. The rental looks exactly the same as the photos. It was clean and it is directly across from the beach. My little dog LOVED being able to come along (thanks for allowing pets!). Parking is provided, which is very nice because it didn't look like a lot of options off of the street. The center of the town is within walking distance and a nice bar/grill (Loggerheads Beach Grill) with live music is only a couple of blocks down. The neighbor that lives in the connecting unit was very nice and also had a friendly dog. There were several water beetles that snuck into the rental while we were there, but I figure that is the same for a majority of the places on the ground floor next to the beach. They really weren’t a big deal. Overall, I would highly recommend renting here. Also, Dianne and Michael were very friendly and easy to rent from. Thanks again!!!


Note: It was also a piece of cake to rent surf boards for a week from McKevlin's Surf Shop. This made for a great time! If you're planning to surf, however, you might want to check out the beach rules because I think there are certain times of year that you can't be on the main beach during peak hours.

Folly Beach Rental

We rented this apartment during spring break. It was very convenient to the beach and an easy walk to town. However, the Internet service didn't work the first two days of our stay and after picking up a new modem, I still had to wait until the next day for a repair person. This normally wouldn't have been a big problem, but as a small business owner, I needed to get work done. Also, the apartment needs a lot of updating, especially in the kitchen from the sink (wouldn't hold water to wash dishes - no dishwasher) to the loose drawers to the uneven, wobbly stove/oven. We did appreciate allowing pets and our small dog enjoyed walking on the beach. It was small for four people and high priced for the rundown conditions.

Owner's Response: We know how important it is to provide internet service, this is why we recently had wireless installed in this rental in 2012. The modem placed was brand new and through Comcast directly. Once we were notified by our guests that there was a problem, we responded immediately and had comcast scheduled to fix the issue. This rental was completely repainted in January 2012. It now has flat ceilings instead of popcorn and all the walls in every room have a fresh coat of paint. The floors are dated but the home is fresh and very clean. It is located in one of the only areas left on Folly where there is no parking directly out front, which significantly improves noise and congestion. It is directly across from the beach and walking distance to downtown. This rental is not advertised as having a dishwasher. We appreciate feedback from our guests and will look into replacing the kitchen sink and faucet and will try to make sure all drawers are in working condition and easy for our guests to use.

Amazing Vacation

My family and I vacationed here last summer. We had planned an entire week; however, due to some unforeseen circumstances we were only able to arrive later in the week. Diane and the owners were so great with helping my husband and I work it out where we could still come have some of our vacation.

The location of the apartment is great. It is just a walk across the street to the beach and just a few blocks from the center of town. The apartment was very clean and the owners were great. We love having a washer and dryer right at the door. Although they had an outside shower rinse off, we loved being able to wash our clothes and beach towels when we came in. Folly Beach is just minutes from all the attractions of Charleston. Folly and Charleston has so much history of the South to see. You have to repeat your vacations here in order to get to see it all. We were so happy that Diane was able to work it out where we could salvage some of our vacation. However, we plan on coming back this year and stay our entire week. We fell in love with private island. Our three children loved the owners dog when he was out for a walk. In fact, we plan on making this apartment a yearly vacation place for our family. The owners and all the residents at Folly Beach were just so pleasant. We were amazed how friendly all the locals are. They make you feel right at home. We would recommend this apartment to any couple or small family for your summer vacation.

Perfect location for those who want to walk to Shops and Restaurants. Also you can throw a rock and hit the sand on the beach in front. This house is oceanfront and is only separated by a low traffic road in front. There are no buildings in front. The beach access is just across the road.
