The “Vertbois” sits tucked away on a quiet “rue” guarded by a XIIth century tower, making it a haven of peace and calm. This lovely 500 square feet one-bedroom – two bathroom apartment with wooden beams is bathed in sun light from three sides and is just a few doors down from restaurants, art galleries and a small grocery store, and right next to a charming violin maker's workshop.
You’ll be in the heart of Paris, in the Marais district, Paris’ trendiest neighborhood hosting many outstanding buildings of historic and architectural importance. Lastly, four metro stations and six metro lines are within few blocks of the apartment - all of Paris is at your doorstep!

Everything in the apartment is new, from the designer linens and towels, to the appliances and electronics.
The large main room includes the living room that opens into a modern kitchen with granite counter-tops while the second room is the bedroom. In addition, there are two full bathrooms (one with a full-size bathtub) making is extremely convenient if there are two couples or kids.
In the entrance, there is the first of two bathrooms on the left. It has a full shower with a rainfall shower-head, floating toilet and contemporary washbasin. In both bathrooms, the floors and walls are tiled with Italian porcelain. All linens and towels are provided.

Sophie's apartment is exactly as described and photographed. It is located in a quiet street and has recently been refurbished so has modern bathrooms and kitchen yet it still retains it's Parisian charm. The bed is very comfortable and can be divided to make 2 singles if you prefer. The heating is very efficient and totally controllable so you can adjust it to suit your own preferences. It is close to metros, supermarkets etc. Sophie and her team are really helpful at all stages, from the booking to the refunding of the security deposit and nothing is too much trouble so if you have a question just ask - I did and I always received a prompt reply. I would definitely recommend this apartment to any of my friends.
Our family of four enjoyed a wonderful self-catered holiday in Sophie's lovely flat. The ambience is quintessentialy Parisian with its winding staircase that seems to have grown out of the Marais soil sometime in the 19th century and large windows to let in the breeze. Yet, there is every modern convenience as well. Even though there's only 1 bedroom, the second bath made it workable for four of us to get out quickly in the mornings and start our many Parisian adventures. For a couple, it would feel luxuriously large. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of glassware, pans, dishes and cutlery. There are markets and metro stops a few blocks in every direction, it seemed, and a lovely patisserie close at hand as well. The owner and her team were so easy to work with, booking a car when I had difficulties and giving great advice about the city they love.
This apt accommodated 3 of us comfortably - particularly (for the adult daughter), because there were 2 bathrooms! The apt is exactly as described. It was clean, comfortable and very quiet! We were very close to 3 metro stops, several restaurants (we only had one evening meal at home) and Le Marche des Rouges Enfants. This market has amazing produce and take-away meals. While the apt is a bit of a walk to Notre Dame it is very doable. After all Paris is for walking and browsing. Our host- Sophie- met us and explained everything about the apt. The free WiFi and telephone usage is a very welcome bonus. We had a great time in Paris. This apartment suited our needs perfectly. It was quiet, clean, spacious and very bright. Very close to various transport. It was also nice to have a few basics in the cupboards as those are the items that get used every day but are not transportable!
I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and definitely would recommend to others.
First, I want to apologize to Sophie & Helene for not writing this review sooner. My lack of urgency had nothing to do with anything negative about our experience, just maybe it says a little bit about how overwhelming my "real life" can be. That being said, the time we spent in Paris was magical!
The apartment was exactly as depicted: Beautiful, comfortable, spotlessly clean, and warm. We LOVED the location and how convenient it was to several Metro stops, grocery stores & bakeries. We walked EVERYWHERE, night and day. Even though the hustle and bustle of the City was less than 1/2 a block from our door, the apartment and the street were always quiet and serene. Our biggest surprise was just how spacious and comfortable the apartment was. We had family come to stay for 2 nights and the pull-out couch got great reviews for comfort and the second bathroom came in very handy.
I would also like to say a big "Thank You" to Sophie and Helene for giving us the best customer service! I communicated with Sophie for months before our trip and she was so very helpful in every way. This was our first trip overseas and I had LOTS of questions and concerns. She answered them all promptly and in such a friendly and professional manner. Every contact from my very first inquiry to our checkout day was handled flawlessly. Even special requests were not a problem. I MUST sleep with a fan in the bedroom and even though it was November, there was one waiting for us on arrival. Also, I had asked about where to get ice trays and Coke Zero in Paris. She gave me my answer, and then surprise! Both were already in the fridge when we got there! Because of Sophie and Helene, our first tip to Paris was amazing!
It has been 6 months since our trip and I have barely gotten over my "having to come home from Paris blues." We had thought it was going to be a once in a lifetime trip, but I am already thinking about our next one and "Le Vertbois" will be our FIRST choice. If wishing could make it so, we'd already be there!
This is a wonderful apartment in a lovely area of the northern section of the Marais district of Paris. The description and photographs were exact. Apartment is on a quiet street in a non-tourist section of Paris just south of the Place De La Republique. Located near 4 Metro stops and close to a small grocery store and a short walk to a larger Metroprix grocery store and Boulangerie. Wi-Fi worked excellent. Museum Pass may be purchased at the Arts and Metiers Museum which is across the street, will save you a lot of time. Excellent kitchen and two full bathrooms. We had our children visit and had plenty of space with the pull out couch. Helene is your very helpful local Paris contact. Many excellent restaurants and cafes nearby. Wife and I enjoyed touring Paris all day and then coming back to a quiet apartment at night. Would highly recommend this Rental.
My wife and I stayed 10 days at the Vertbois apartment in the Marais district. We were looking for a clean, quiet apartment in a good, safe location. And that is what we received.
There are at least 3 supermarkets within a 10 minute walk including one which is only a couple of minutes away. We found a couple of good bakeries on Rue Terbigo.
The Seine and Notre Dame cathedral is only a 20 minute walk away. And the Louvre not that much further.
As well there are 3 Metro stops close by, so we could usually get to any point in Paris without having to change trains. But we tried to walk whenever possible as this is the best way to see Paris and its people.
We hope to return to Paris again and would enjoy staying at this apartment again.
