Here’s your perfect place to relax and unwind for a weekend. Only 90 minutes from Seattle, yet you’ll feel like you are a million miles away! Cozy for a romantic getaway yet big enough to sleep 2 families for a weekend of fun. Gull Cottage is located right on Maxwelton Beach on the Southwest corner of Whidbey Island, only 12 minutes from both the Clinton Ferry dock and the charming town of Langley. Sunset at Gull Cottage is magical - this is a view to remember!!

Gull Cottage accommodates up to 8 people. Gull Cottage has two bedrooms upstairs - the master bedroom with a queen-sized bed (and a wide open view of the Sound!) and the kids' room with bunk beds. Downstairs there is a queen-sized bed in the guest bedroom, and a full-sized pull-out futon couch in the living room. The two upstairs bedrooms share one bathroom with a stall shower and downstairs is another bathroom with stall shower.

This is a non-smoking and pet-free property.

Just outside the back door is a wide expanse of flat sandy beach - perfect for long walks, beach volleyball, shell collecting and when the tide goes out, warm water ponds form - perfect for wading or pond surfing. This is the perfect beach for fishing and clamming - bring your gear and permits and you are ready to go! A pair of nesting eagles resides in the trees on Scatchet Head cliff, behind Gull Cottage - bring your binoculars for some excellent bird watching.

Across the gravel road from the house is a large yard - the ideal spot for games of croquet or wiffle ball. Less than half mile up the road is the Dave Mackie public park - complete with a kids' play area, a baseball diamond and a boat launch.

Just 10 minutes up Maxwelton Road is the charming town of Langley, with plenty of delicious restaurants and shopping. Nearby are hiking trails and the well-maintained roads on South Whidbey are also great for biking.

Notes: Gull Cottage is fully stocked with linens, towels and kitchen amenities. There's a CD boom box with lots of CDs and an iPod boom box in the living room. The living room also sports a wood-burning stove - a charming decorative element in summer and a wonderful way to keep toasty warm during stormy winter nights. In the guest room, there's a TV with DVD/VHS player with a wide variety of videos. The downstairs hall closet is loaded with games, puzzles and art supplies. There is a washer/dryer and a dishwasher, a coffee maker, a toaster oven and microwave and even an espresso machine. There is a charcoal barbeque on the brand new lower deck, and the upstairs deck off the master bedroom is the perfect place for stargazing.

Fantastic 50th Birthday Girls Weekend

What an absolute gem! We had a great weekend celebrating a 50th birthday. The weather was absolutely wonderful and the cottage is perfect. I love colors that Elya picked and it is just everything and more that you would want. The cottage was clean and tidy with so much for the kids and teens to do to keep themselves busy. Woke up the first morning to 2 Eagles perched on the two old pier posts outfront. Watched and took loads of pictures then watched them fly off. Lovely neighbors too. Can't wait to return. Thank you so very much for sharing your lovely home.

Spectacular September Stay

My sister-in-law, niece, and I came to the beach for a girls' get away and loved the beach time immensely. We were glad that our second niece could not come after all as the bunk bed room was not usable by an adult weighing over 130 pounds. Perhaps reinforce the bottom bunk so an adult could use it? The beds were quite comfortable, the home decor is both cute and beachy, linens were clean and plentiful, and the sandy beach was just steps from the back deck. Wine tasting and excellent restaurants are not too far away. Hot September days and spectacular sunsets made this stay absolutely wonderful.

Really fun!

We had such a great time here! Families with kids will love Gull Cottage especially, since there are indoor and outdoor toys and games as well as the proximity to the beach that can't be beat. The owner has excellent wi-fi internet which was so convenient for checking weather, tide tables, ferry times, etc. We ate all our meals right at the house, saving money on going out, and there's plenty of seating outside on the deck (for eight!) for meals outside as well as a nice big farmhouse table inside. The best part about the cottage is that it's cozy without being "fancy" so we were very much at home. All the beds were really comfy and having two bathrooms with showers was a plus. Making s'mores on the beach while watching the sunset was positively dreamy. And my niece kept asking if we could stay for "100 days!" :) Thanks for the great vacation!

Relaxing vacation...right on the beach

Our vacation was so relaxing and the best part for us is was being right on Maxwellton Beach! In our opinion Maxwellton is has the best beach on the island. We loved the room and the accomodations..everything was provided. We just had to grocery shop for food and we were set up! The other nice thing was the parking space...so nice to have the additional lot across the street to park at. We will definitely be choosing Gull Cottage for our next summer get-a-way!! Loved it (:

Perfect Beach House

This is our second year in a row staying at the Gull Cottage and we love it! House is perfectly stocked, it has the most comfortable beds and softest linens, and a location that can't be beat. Plenty of puzzles and games for the rainy days, a big table for family dinners, and great outdoor furniture on a large deck for lounging while soaking in the view. Fits our family of 4 plus my sister and my parents perfectly. Owner is responsive and easy to work with. Don't think we could stay anywhere else!
