About The Owner
Greg and Megan 'Gregan' just got married in Cabo on September 1, 2012! We love San Diego and live in North County. Megan decorates as a hobby and Greg plays beach volleyball. We love to share our favorite places with people who are new to San Diego.
The Owner purchased this condo in 2007
Why The Owner chose San Diego
We chose Aloft on Cortez Hill because it is an Oliver McMillan (OM) building. OM buildings use concrete instead of wood construction so the units are quieter and safer. You can immediately tell that OM went the extra mile to create quality and style. The vibe at Aloft is cool and relaxed; ZEN.
What makes this condo unique
The city must have asked the builders to do something for the community in exchange for the property because they built a super cool little park and jungle gym for kids. The project is called 'Tweet Street' and is focused on drawing kids, birds and butterflys. They don't exactly drown out the airplane noise when you are outside but we dig the integration of city, nature, and urban living.
Guestbook comments from the owner
If I could be assured every vacation rental was like this, I wouldn't ever stay in a hotel again. The loft is beautiful and nicely decorated. The photos show how it really is. The owners are nice too! I'm a photographer so I really liked the light in the unit. There are floor to ceiling windows (2 stories tall) with a view of Balboa Park. The freeway is there too, but the windows are well insulated and you can barely hear the cars even at night. Everything is there that you need including a washer/dryer. If you like to read there is lots to choose from. Toni Morrison, Camus, Faulkner, David Sedaris and short stories. I read Freakonomics, a book I have been waiting three years to buy because I'm too cheap to buy the hardback. But read quickly, you can't take the books with you. It is San Diego so I recommend a car although you are pretty close to the Gaslamp District and Hillcrest. I'll definitely stay again.
