Great Neighborhood, Details Lacking
My family and I were looking for a place to spend the holidays together and Lake Lure was highly recommended.
I was disappointed with the communication from the property manager and what felt like the accuracy of the rental space.
I reached out to the property manager twice to update the headcount on our booking - no response back. I had not received check in details the Thursday evening prior to our check in, so I both messaged and called - no response back. Called again the Friday morning of our check in - no response. I had to reach out to VRBO support - who also didn’t get a response from the property manager. It was until later in the day that we received any details. With multiple adults, two dogs and a baby traveling in, it was a bit unnerving to not know when I was going to receive check in details, if at all.
Never received check out details.
The area and neighborhood were beautiful - but it was obviously that corners were cut when it came to the craftsmanship and details of this rental. Shower heads that screamed, faucets that splashed water onto the floor, poor mill work, etc. However, my biggest issue was the lack of privacy. Every room, with the exception of the downstairs bathroom, was a barn door. The “bedroom” upstairs even had an open window space to the wall below. I do not feel like this was accurately captured in the rental photos. It was not ideal for stay with multiple family members, let alone small children.
