Priceless Oceanview!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, son and I stayed at Paula's townhouse for a week and enjoyed it so much!! The townhouse is very spacious with plenty of room for three. We loved the patio and we spent many hours enjoying the views of the ocean!! The townhouse is in a quiet area, but is only a quick bus ride to Nassau. The bus (jitney) only cost $1.25 which is only a 2 minute walk from the townhouse. We made most of our meals at the townhouse and the grocery store was a short 15 minute walk. It was so convenient to have a BBQ to cook our meals!! The kitchen was equipped with everything you would need! The bedrooms were wonderful with your own ensuite bathrooms! Waking up to the view from the master bedroom was so nice! The a/c worked great and kept all three levels cool! Having a washer and dryer to use was so convenient! The beach next to the property is really nice!! I didn't feel we had to go anywhere else to enjoy the sun and sand! We did travel to Atlantis Paradise Island for a night and was really worth the trip. We ended up staying at Atlantis for a night because you must now be a guest of one of the resorts to enjoy the park. It was actually cheaper for us to stay at the resort than pay the entrance fee for three guests. I would recommend taking a taxi from downtown Nassau to Paradise Island. We took the ferry over and spent over an hour waiting for it to leave. We took a taxi back to Nassau which was quicker and cost the same amount as the ferry. ($4 a person). The property manager Barbara picked us up and drove us back to the airport. Thanks Barbara!! I would recommend Paula's townhouse and hope to someday return again.

Spectacular Christmas Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My family selected this property for a week stay over the Christmas holiday. We had a wonderful time! The property was very clean, and there was plenty of space for our family of 5 (parents and three adult kids). We rented a car from Barbara for the week, which made it easy to drive to dinners out, to the fish market for fresh fish to grill on the patio, and to downtown to walk around for a day. We did use the car just about every day, even if it was just a quick trip to the liquor store or grocery for a few items.

Some of our highlights were a lovely dinner at Mahogany House, a great stand-up paddleboard lesson from PappaSurf, a visit to the fish market that made for some amazing dinners, a day trip to the Exumas, and spending time at the on-property beach area. It was a perfect getaway for us - nice and quiet, and away from all the touristy aspects of downtown and Paradise Island.

Paula was incredibly responsive with questions when we were looking at the property, and Barbara was very helpful with airport pick up/drop off, getting us extra bottled water and a new tank of propane for the grill when it ran out on us.

We would absolutely stay here again and would recommend to our friends and family if they're considering a stay in the Bahamas

Amazing views on the ocean

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here with our two very small children. We had a very relaxing time in this beautiful home, which appears to be part of the newer homes in the development. The set up is great with a wonderful open concept main floor (overlooking the ocean), very nice kitchen (which we used for almost every meal, but be warned, groceries are very costly in the Bahamas), a fantastic patio, as well as a very generous sized master bedroom balcony (compared to some of the other units in the complex). The home is clean with very tasteful, comfortable, modern furnishings and decor. Bathrooms are very clean as well - very convenient that each room has its own en suite.

The house is literally on the oceanfront rocks and you almost feel like you can reach out and touch the ocean waves from the patio. My husband and I just love the ocean, so it was a great place for us to still feel like we were on the "beach," while hanging at the house during the kids' sleep time.

The location of the unit is very convenient right near the gate so that we could catch the jitney (ex. to the grocery stores and to the Ardastra Zoo - recommend this place for kids). We preferred to take the jitney vs. walking on the main road to for example, Sandyport, because it really feels quite dangerous with small kids and using a stroller is almost impossible (there aren't many grassy medians to walk on). Being close to the gate was also convenient for us with small kids to access the beach in front of the Poop Deck restaurant, where we spent most of our time - the beach here is fairly clean, nice sand and a nice place for a dip in the water... and very quiet; we almost never saw anyone.

Delaporte Point itself is a bit quiet and you have to make a point to travel by car or jitney to see more of the attractions. You have some good restaurants at nearby Sandyport. We, personally, were looking for a quiet beach vacation away from the crowds, so this suited us well.

In terms of transportation, make sure you book with Barbara early, since her vehicles rent quickly in busy season. We didn't want to drive in the Bahamas on the left side of the road and were glad we didn't, because we felt the traffic was quite fast with lots of roundabouts and narrow streets, and that you had to know where you were going. We were too late to book transport with Barbara, but ended up with finding a reliable taxi company that provided car seats.

Should we return to the Bahamas, we would definitely

Beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five was eagarly awaiting our arrival at Blue Reef. As soon as we opened the front door, and saw the amazing view of the sea and heard the waves kissing against the rocks, we knew we were where we needed to be. Blue Reef was everything we had hoped for and then some. The townehome is perfectly appointed with everthing you would need including pool toys and even a football for my 9 year old son. The kitchen has all of the comforts of home and the bedrooms are great and very comfortable. The patio is outstanding. We spent a great deal of time there just looking out and enjoying that view. The whole home is clean, inviting and very well maintained. The grounds at Delaporte Point are lovely and everyone was extrremely friendly and helpful. The two pools were very nice as well as the private beach. The supermarkets are just a stones throw away as well as the many excellent restaurants. Paula gave us a list of her favorites which we found to be spot on. Barbara is an absolute gem. She picked us up at the airport and was also able to rent us one of her minivans for our stay. The jitney buses do run often but the freedom of coming and going when and where you want was terrific.

We will be returning to Nassau in the near future and we will definitely be coming back to Blue Reef an outstanding vacation home!

Gorgeous Home Away from home!

  • 5 of 5

This is an absolutely lovely, clean, well-maintained, and completely self-sufficient oceanfront town home. It lacked for nothing! The bedrooms are large and comfortable, with the added bonus of individual ensuite bathrooms. We travelled with our 2 adult children so there was never any concerns about hogging the washroom, or running late. The kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances and every possible utensil (including a great blender for tropical drinks!). There is a huge patio area where we spent a good part of our time having morning coffee, BBQs, and evening cocktails. The sunrise and sunset are amazing to watch from the patio or from the second level deck off the master bedroom so be sure to have your camera ready. The pool areas (there are 2 pools - clean and well maintained) were within short walking distance from the Unit as well as a lovely beach front by the Poop Deck. Both areas were never crowded. Barbara, the Property Manager, was sweet and lovely to deal with - so friendly and helpful that she even joined us on our first grocery expedition! We also rented a vehicle from Barbara which was convenient and a great way to tour the island. The Jitneys were also a convenient and inexpensive way to get around when we wanted to explore and shop without worrying about parking.

I can't say enough about this rental unit - for the 2 weeks we spent there, it was truly our home away from home. The pictures on the website truly do not do it justice - it is so much more. Thanks so much to both Paula and Barbara for an amazing experience. It was one of our best family holidays and we would love to return! C. and J. Larose, Ottawa, ON
