LITTLE LAGOON HAS GROWN UP! ! ! Little Lagoon's renovations are complete. The apartment next door to it has been renovated and connects with the existing space that spans the ENTIRE FIRST FLOOR OF THE HOUSE! You can rent the FULL 2-BDR/2-BATH ADJOINING SPACES (which includes everything listed in the Amenities Section), or you can rent one of two 1-BDR apartments (a small 1-BDR apt. called LITTLE LAGOON NORTH or the larger 1-BDR apt. called LITTLE LAGOON SOUTH...SEE NEW PICTURES)! The entire 2-BDR apartment is screened-in!

For 1-BDR options: 'LITTLE LAGOON NORTH' is a cute 1 bedroom apartment with a 3/4-Bath (tiled shower stall), outdoor porch & kitchenette on the ocean side first floor of a solid masonry 2-story building right on John's Folly Bay lagoon. If you prefer something a bit larger, 'LITTLE LAGOON SOUTH' is a larger 1-BDR/1-Bath apartment with a full kitchen, living room, A/C in bedroom, 3/4-Bath (tiled shower stall) and outdoor porch (half of which is screened-in)!

CARIBBEAN SEASIDE, LOCATED ON A LAGOON!!!!: We are 100 yards from the beach at John's Folly Bay and 20 feet above sea level on a beautifully landscaped vista of flowers/native trees/palm trees/fruit trees. The building is owner-occupied with 2 young children, and has an outdoor play area available. We are steps away from a gorgeous shallow lagoon which is ideal for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and fly-fishing. We're on the public bus route, but car rentals are recommended.

You might have many interesting questions to ask the owner, Ernest, who is a native Virgin Islander and a former OLYMPIC athlete who competed in the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France! Bobsledding, no less! We even have an historic ruins built in 1882 on site, of which Ernest is the 5th generation. We are surrounded by hiking trails & various white sand and rocky swimming/snorkeling beaches. The V.I. National Park constitutes 2/3 of the island, and the skies are usually sunny with an average year-round temperature of 85 degrees.

Visit St. John and live like the locals

You can choose to stay at a high-end resort with everything pre-packaged, with spas and shopping, or you can rent some doctor's vacation rental in an expensive house and basically sit on top of a hill and look at the sea below. Or you can really experience St. John just as the locals do and live in a fully equipped, comfortable apartment right down on the ocean and do whatever you feel like, with all the best things about this island right at your doorstep! Not only that, but you'll have two very gracious and knowledgeable hosts that can guide you to whatever island experience you came here for!
This is what you get when you stay with Earnest and Donna for a real taste of St. John, and not some canned vacation package that is the same no matter what island you visit.
One of the things we like best about Home-away rentals is the really nice people you get to meet as your hosts. Earnest and Donna are two of the very best we have had the pleasure of making friends with, and their valuable information helped us to have an awesome vacation experience, and we will definitely be coming back again!
The apartment was spacious and fully-equipped, and our stay there was very comfortable and we lacked for nothing!
I'll take the Coral Bay side of the island over the Cruz Bay side anytime, this is pure tropical island living at it's best! The beaches on the other side get all the hype, but we loved Salt Pond bay, and Kittel bay much more than the cruise-ship
infested beaches that the tour guides talk about. (We are avid snorkelers, not beach-goers, so keep that in mind.) Earnest knows all the best places to snorkel, and is more than happy to tell you what you need to know to get everything you came to this paradise to see and experience!
Our favorite restaurant was Shipwreck Landing, right down the road. We tried others in the area, but this one ended up being our favorite, and everytime we dined there was a better than expected experience!
If you're thinking about coming to St. John and experiencing all the best things this island has to offer, Little Lagoon is the place you want to stay, and having this wonderful couple as your hosts will make your vacation all that you are hoping it will be!

Great stay for a great price!

We stayed 9 nights at the smaller of the two units. Our hosts were great to us and provided some excellent snorkeling tips. The place is a little small, but my family of four managed just fine. We enjoyed exploring the island by day and we cooked meals each night on the provided gas grill. You can't find a better deal on the island...we will be back!

Paradise at a reasonable price!

My husband and I stayed at Little Lagoon North for a week as part of our honeymoon, and we can't wait to go back again! Ernest and Donna were such nice people, and so helpful and welcoming. Their place is just beautiful- the pictures don't do it justice. The little apartment was perfect for us- the kitchen had everything we needed for making a late dinner after a day spent on the beaches, it stayed nice and cool with just the fans and the wonderful breeze, we had wifi which was nice for planning our days, and it was so great to stay on the quieter side of the island and see a little of what life is like for a St Johnian. Little Lagoon is very close to the gorgeous Salt Pond Bay, which was great for a quiet weekend day when we didn't feel like going into Cruz Bay. I can't wait to go back here- the owners really have thought of everything, and I'd recommend it in a heartbeat to anyone looking for a quiet place to stay with an ocean view out their bedroom window and beauty everywhere they look! We didnt rent a car, just depended on the bus system and our willingness to hike- it was absolutely perfect.

Pleasantly perfect!

Perfect for anyone wanting to be away from the hub-bub of "town". The Owners are extremely helpful. The rental is spacious and well equipped. Waking early I'd watch the sunrise over the ocean (just a hop and a skip from the rental). We explored the island and its bays by day. Cooked many dinners in the rental, dining on the veranda under the stars. We also enjoyed the nearby restaurants (highly recommend Miss Lucy's). Peaceful and quiet, morning and night. Reliable Internet service. I wish I had stayed longer and if I'm fortunate enough to return to St. John I'll certainly stay at the Little Lagoon again. Good for families, couples (2 couples easily), or middle aged women who love to swim (that would be us!)

The greatest place on Earth!!!

Our family been coming to St. John, USVI every spring for the past 6 years (we have a very good friend who lives on the island) and last year was the first time we couldn't stay with our friend, so we had to find an alternate lodging...after looking around and having a good knowledge of the island, we stopped at the Little Lagoon. This place exceeded our expectations!!! The hosts were fantastic, the property is spectacular and the atmosphere simply couldn't get any better. If you have a car (one must have a vehicle to fully explore the island) and looking for a "local", relaxed, clean place to stay after a busy day/evening in Cruz bay....Little Lagoon is the place! I drank coffee every morning, while walking along the water, you can enjoy sunsets right from your deck! There are a ton of positive things about this place! After staying at the Little Lagoon last year, we are visiting it again this year, despite the fact we could have a free place with our friends living on the island; We have never had a more pleasant vacation on St. John than staying at the Little Lagoon!
