We live on the wondrous Grand Traverse Bay with our two mutts. Love the water, the great city and this fabulous, naturally beautiful and under-appreciated great northwest corner of Michigan.
The Owner purchased this condo in 2011
The renovation is a truly special place and so close to an abundance of activity in the greater Grand Traverse area.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner all available at fine establishments throughout the Mercato, the ground level shopping area. Choices of wine, coffee and food, all without leaving the campus.
My wife and I stayed here for one week with our annual Michigan vacation to Traverse City. We love the Village at Grand Traverse Commons, and were delighted with the opportunity to stay there. This little condo has it all! Perfect for two people, it has a comfortable living room with flat screen TV and satellite channels to choose from. The WiFi was spot on, and easy to access. The kitchen is very nice with a modern style and appliances. We cooked only once, however could have easily prepared daily meals. The bed was very comfortable [and with a history of back problems, that is not taken lightly!] and the bathroom also modern and nice, and there is plenty of hot water for the shower. Put simply, this small condo served as a home "away from home" during our stay. It was very quiet staying there, and that is a key element when we look for a place to stay. This condo is easy to access by entering the Mercato and taking the elevator. As one would expect, staying at the The Village also means that you can take the same elevator downstairs to browse the shops and boutiques or get something to eat. We enjoyed several breakfasts at Cuppa Joe. Hands down, we would easily stay again. Thank-you John for the great experience!
I stayed 4 months in this comfortable, fully furnished condo and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The owner was always reachable for questions or concerns. The Village exudes positive energy and has a fascinating historical heritage. There is always something going on, yet the condo is peaceful and quiet. Residents are friendly to newcomers, and I felt completely safe as a woman living alone.
A very nice condo---very quiet, nicely decorated, everything we needed, good location, very clean!
The condo was in a vey convienent location, and loved all of the ammenities availavle on the property or within walking distance. The shops, restaurants, etc were all very nice. The value for the condo over a hotel room was so worth it. The hotels were priced highe then the condo, and to have a kitchen, living room, etc was wonderful.
Wow! What a wonderful stay we had! The condo was beautiful and John was terrific to work with. He made sure that we felt welcome.
The condo was exceptionally clean, quite, and very nicely appointed. Our stay at the Commons was a great alternative to the "hustle and bustle" of the typical resorts of the area.We highly recommend this property to anyone who would like a great, quiet adult getaway. Our stay went beyond our expectations. We will definintely be returning.
Not your run-of-the-mill condo. Unique setting (a historical former mental institution!), very charming, well-equiped, clean condo. We loved having coffee each morning at the Higher Grounds coffee shop/roastery just across the street and enjoyed the 1+ mile walk to the lakefront and town. We had a great meal at the Italian restaurant right in the building. The owner was very helpful and friendly. Only one suggestion, and this may not be of interest to others: the bed mattress was a bit firm for my liking.
