COTTAGE AT LAKESIDE - A GOLF & LAKE GETAWAY W/ COUNTRY CLUB ACCESS

Views from the cottage of the hill country are spectacular. We really enjoyed our morning coffee and an evening glass of wine outside on the patio listening to the sounds of nature, watching the wildlife and enjoying the view (patio furniture was very comfortable). The cottage is right on the 1st tee and a great spot to watch the golfers. The cottage itself was incredibly comfortable (especially the beds and the sofas) and very tastefully decorated. It was clean and bed linens and towels were top quality (and there was a plentiful supply of towels). There are flat screen TV's in all bedrooms as well as 2 in the living areas we really did not use them much but great to have. There was a small office space and my husband used the WiFi for internet access and had no problems. The kitchen was clean and equipped for basic cooking. Couple of things I think are needed in the kitchen; table mats, dishcloths, scourers, baking trays or pyrex dishes for baking in the oven. There are no closets in the bedrooms, owner has provided over door hanging rails but there we no hangers. This was really not a problem for us but might be useful for others. The country club offers lots of opportunities for walking. We walked over to the boat dock (which is currently dry due to low lake levels) but it would appear you can walk around to the lake from there. The fitness center and clubhouse are within 2 minutes walking distance and in addition to the cottage yard there is a large grassy common area adjacent to the cottage (in front of the clubhouse) which was great for our boys to run around and play catch. There were a few gas stations close by which were okay for basic provisions but nearest grocery store (HEB, Whole Foods) is approx 10-15 miles away. Lots to do fairly close by 5-10 miles (zip lining, wineries, safari park, hiking etc). We really enjoyed out stay and would highly recommend.
