The Stellata Suite
Named after the Star Magnolia, a plant reminiscent of lace and night sky, this bright, spacious room with a vaulted ceiling is furnished with a Queen-sized White Iron bed. Luxurious bedding ensures a restful night’s sleep. The newly refurbished private bathroom is tastefully decorated and includes a bathtub and shower. If you’d like to end your evening with a movie, the suite includes a TV/DVD. Complimentary wireless is also available.
Like the Honeysuckle vine entwining the arbour at the side of the front porch, this airy suite, with vaulted ceiling and lovely clerestory window, invites romance. Furnished with a Queen-sized antique wooden bed complete with lavish bedding, the room includes a private ensuite which features a Tub for Two. In the morning, enjoy breakfast in your own private eating area. A private reading/sitting area is another feature of the Honeysuckle Suite, enhanced TV/DVD. If you decide to bring your laptop, complimentary wireless is available
The third room, The Primrose,
is on the main floor, furnished with an iron bed, double long size, and a four piece bathroom just across the hall. The laundry room is also situated on the main floor and is the home to a futon which can be used for that extra guest.
A gas fireplace will tantalize you into curling up with a book on the couch in the front (living) room.
A fully equipped kitchen has full size stainless steel appliances for your cooking pleasure. All pots, pans and dishes are included. Plenty of seating available, both in the kitchen area or in the optional sitting area upstairs which boasts a library and window seats where you may find a little solitude.
Relax on the wooden front porch, or take a short stroll to “downtown” Fort Langley where you can spend the day browsing antique shops, art galleries, and a café/bookstore! Dine in one of the many fine restaurants, or enjoy an evening of jazz at Ft. Langley’s newest piano bar. For a quieter day, walk to Parks Canada Historic Fort, where you’ll be greeted by staff dressed in period costumes, demonstrating Old World activities. Or enjoy nature and walk the Fort-to-Fort trail along the Fraser River.
And when you are done exploring the vicinity, slow down in the peaceful gardens surrounding the Fort Guesthouse. Follow the paths past rocks, perennials and indigenous plants, and enjoy the antiques interspersed throughout. Margaret Ann, or “M.A.”, as her family affectionately calls her, grew up in rural Fraser Valley. A first-generation Canadian, her passions include renovating homes, antiques, travel, history , gardening, and entertaining with old-fashioned home-cooking. A more recent interest is pottery.
Margaret Ann is also a recent graduate of the University of Fraser Valley and has successfully completed her TESL certificate in order toTeach English as a Second Language.
When she is not working at home or enjoying her grandsons, you will find her strolling in Fort Langley or hiking down the Fort-to-
Fort trail. And when time allows, she may be found playing a round of golf at one of the local golf courses.
