|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Modern conveniences await in this beautifully appointed, newly renovated Southern home nestled just off one of Savannah's famous, beautiful squares. The vacation rental offers everything necessary to enjoy your stay in the historic district of Savannah and has been around for hundreds of years. General Sherman's staff stayed here during their visit in 1864 and there are photographs hanging on the walls from that long ago time including a letter from President Lincoln to General Sherman.
As you step inside to the stone entryway, you'll enjoy the airy feel of the bright decor. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook a romantic dinner atop stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. The master bedroom features a Queen sized bed, desk area, and a flat screen TV. The master bathroom has a clear glass and marble stand-up shower and a pedestal sink. The living room features plenty of seating around a decorative fireplace with a flatscreen TV and a cozy dining area for two. Outside, you can catch a cool Savannah breeze while sipping sweet Southern tea rocking away the summer nights on the rocking chairs on your front patio.
Renting homes from Southern Belle is painless and professional. We take credit cards and require a $300.00 deposit to confirm the booking which is applied towards the remaining balance. Thirty days prior to your arrival our booking software will charge the balance automatically. We also sell Traveler's Insurance which covers medical, hotels if you get stuck in a city, or trip cancellation for any reason.

We had a great week here from Sept 20-27. Perfectly located and a good price and free parking. Next door is Savannah coffee roasters - amazing food and drink. A good breakfast if needed. Tourist office is a 5 min walk, with all the trolley tours. Take one first, so you can get an overview of the town and see where you want to go. There is a free bus that runs around the historic center too.
Minuses? Yes, two, which is why we gave 4 stars and not 5. Firstly, there is no wardrobe, just hooks on the wall to hang your clothes. However the furniture is gorgeous, and a really comfortable bed. Secondly, the managing company need to be sorted out. There was water on the floor when we arrived. We subsequently learned it came from a leaky dishwasher. We reported it Tues, they said they would call Wed, they did not. We called again, they said they would call Thurs. The dishwasher still leaked, therefore we assume they did not as they was no message left or phone call to tell us what was going on. We had to wash our dishes by hand, no big deal, but not good enough. Also when we arrived there was no toilet paper. Once again, we carry tissues, so was okay, but this needs to be addressed by the owners we feel.
It was very noisy Saturday night, as we expected. We are on the 1st floor and the town parties well in to the early hours. But, the rest of the week was fine. We would certainly stay here again, but hope the owners have a word with the management company about making repairs when needed.
The Bird-Baldwin house is a perfect location! It is furnished beautifully and up-to-date. It was very clean and comfortable. We could walk to whatever we wanted to see or do. Even if you are not able to walk, there is plenty of parking available on the streets. Savannah is a beautiful city. I am planning on coming back and staying at the Bird-Baldwin house if available. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to see Savannah. We loved it!!! The bed was so comfortable! They even had movies to watch that were filmed in Savannah! So we did that a couple of nights with pizza from the Mellow Mushroom. We went to the Olde Pink House for dinner (highly recommended) also do not miss out on Miss Wilkes dining room. The best fried chicken and home cooking! Get there an hour before they open to wait in the line - its well worth the wait. Can't wait to return to the Bird Baldwin house!
We spent a week at the Bird Baldwin House this March and were very pleased. The house is perfectly located to explore Savannah's historic district on foot.
We walked everywhere, prepared our own meals, and relaxed in comfort at the end of the day.
The Bird Baldwin House is a great location to use as a base to explore Savannah.
Perfectly located within easy walking distance of all of Savannah's many charms! Parking is private, right next to the unit, but you don't need the car unless you plan to go to Tybee Island or other day trip spots. The condo is perfect for two with large and well-appointed bedroom, living room, and kitchen, as well as a beautiful master bath. Coastal Trading Co is next door with a coffee house, gourmet food, art gallery and more. Squares, galleries, museums and restaurants all nearby. This is an excellent home base to experience Savannah; we'll be back!
We had an amazing trip in Savannah. The location is great and you can walk or take a pedicab, they go by often at this location and you can just tip them, that's all they charge. The unit was VERY clean and comfortable. Kitchen and bathroom really make this place. Plus...my boyfriend proposed during our stay here so there's plenty of good luck here as well!
We loved your home and we fell in love with Savannah! We couldn't have asked for a better location. The house is so roomy and spotless. We visited Bonaventure Cemetery, had lunch at Soho, dinner at the Olde Pink House, toured Davenport House and Owens-Thomas House and went to all the squares (I should say many squares). We also took a walking tour with Bobby Davis which was fantastic.
As I said, we loved everything. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
