Southern Exposure, a spacious home on St. John built and decorated in true Caribbean style, featuring expansive views of the open sea and cooling trade wind breezes. There is a huge, sprawling deck perfect for entertaining your guests or a private evening of stargazing. Day and night, views from Villa Southern Exposure's deck give you 180 degree plus vistas of the Caribbean to the south, and to the broad expanse of the Fish Bay valley. Here, you’ll bask in the warm glow of the morning sun as it rises above St. John's hills to the east, or while away hours watching sailboats on the beautiful Caribbean Sea.
The Southern Exposure Villa is a four bedroom, four bath spacious villa located in Fish Bay, on St. John's south shore, just a quick twelve minute drive to Cruz Bay, where you'll find markets, restaurants, shopping and entertainment.
A way from the hustle and bustle of town, Southern Exposure offers guests the quiet and solace that brings people to St. John. The villa comfortably accommodates up to 8 people in 4 bedrooms, each with their own bathroom.
The upstairs/downstairs layout provides two separate and spacious communal living areas with large deck which makes this home perfect for families with children, or separate groups of couples wishing some ‘private space’. The raised deck pool, surrounded by beautiful native stone and coral walls and an array of colorful bougainvillea, allamanda flowers, hibiscus and palm trees.
Southern Exposure offers panoramic St. John ocean views and trade wind breezes. There is a second, lower-level covered deck that offers dining and sitting off of the lower sitting room.
The separate cabana’s newly covered deck area provides yet another private lounging space, as does the main house master bedroom’s private deck.
From personalized greeting at dock, highlights of town on the way to the house and full briefing on the house and amenities Mark was the consummate professional. Southern Exposure was well equipped for a large group. We enjoyed eating and entertaining on the multiple decks. Plenty of towels and sheets for everyone.
We just returned from a week long stay in this beautiful home! It had everything we needed and then some! We were a party of eight ranging from 9 to 70 years young and this home was perfect! Plenty of room to spread out and expansive decks and kitchen/living room to all get together! Also, the view was amazing! It was a short drive to all the groceries/restaurants/shopping in Cruz Bay. Mark was excellent! He picked us up at the dock, took us to our rental car and then up to the house we went! We took full advantage of the grill, multiple decks and pool! With two living rooms, our children could relax downstairs before bed with a favorite TV show while the adults played a game upstairs! Our party of eight could fit comfortably in the pool and it was a great way to cool down in the evenings! We really enjoyed out time at Southern Exposure and can't wait to come back!
We liked everything about the house, but the spacious deck was where we spent the majority of our time when we weren't out exploring the beaches or hiking. We had morning coffee on the deck, ate meals on the deck, played games on the deck and just relaxed.
We also appreciated the beach towels, chairs and cooler so we could go enjoy snorkeling and swimming.
Thank you for letting us enjoy your piece of paradise on earth! It was hard to believe that there is a place with such perfect weather after the winter we'd been experiencing in the mid-west!
The house was perfect for our group. Everyone was satisfied with their accommodations and the space and decks were just right. I would also like to single Mark out for the excellent handover of the house to my wife and I on the 21st. All of our questions were answered and the map review that he gave us helped us with our stay. We would definitely return to the Southern Exposure.
We did have one unusual encounter with a tarantula that lives under the sink in the downstairs bathroom (the one that is not connected to the twins room). You might want to flush him out and send him on his way in the wild.
