This magnificent 120m2 fully furnished apartment built in the late 1920s is located in the upscale neighborhood of Recoleta on Arenales street. It radiates old-world charm with luxurious oak parquet and marble floors, tall ceilings with intricate carvings, turn of the century cedar doors and beautiful stained glass windows. It has lots of natural light and is quiet (no bus traffic on this block).
The apartment has been tastefully renovated and furnished with the finest materials - a mix of contemporary furniture and antiques, complemented by modern Argentinean art by the artist Milo Lockett.
It is located 1 block from the elegant shops and cafes on Callao and Santa Fe streets, and one block from the beautiful Vicente Lopez park with several playgrounds. A spa/fitness center is just around the corner. On the same block, you will find a Havana café, a small supermarket, a laundry service and several boutiques.
The building has an elegant marble entrance and stairs, a cage elevator, high quality carvings and refined features, reserved for exclusive architecture of this kind. The apartment covers the entire third floor of approx. 120 sq. meters (1,300 sq. feet), the elevator stops directly at your doorstep.
The spacious living, dining and reading rooms are located in the front of the apartment, while the two main bedrooms are in the back facing a quiet green courtyard. In the middle section, a fully equipped kitchen, two complete bathrooms and a guest room / study can be found.

Sorry for not writing you much earlier to tell you how much we are enjoying our stay in your beautiful apartment. We wish we could come every year. We hate to leave on Monday night but will enjoy our last weekend here.
We are so happy we found you and your lovely apartment. Having your ipod and the radio for music was so nice. I loved tango music during dinner and it was so helpful for quick calls.

Location may be everything, but comfort is equally important. We loved both. We were four adults and one child, and this apartment easily accommodated our needs...and then some. And we spent one month in the apartment. The beds and bedding are top notch. The bathrooms are stylish and functional. The entire home is uncluttered and tastefully decorated--including five paintings by Palermo Hollywood artist, Milo Lockett-- having been completely renovated and restored recently. The kitchen is modern, with everything you need to cook a meal. Though the apartment within a quick walk of really great restaurants (we ate Cumana and Parilla Peña 4 times each during the month), bars (for example, there are 4 English-speaking bars within a block or 3: Casa Bar, El Alamo, Temple bar, and Shamrock), cafés (Havanna on the corner Starbucks down the lane) and bakeries (medialunas are everywhere). There are also large grocery stores (Disco and Carrefour) within a short walk, while smaller grocers are just about every block.
Shopping. Av Santa Fe is loaded with shops to fit any budget and is one block from the apartment. And just a few blocks north on Rodriguez Peña or Callao and you'll stumble onto the more posh shops. The Ricoleta cemetery is near loads of these shops.
transportation. Taxis are easy to catch on the corner across from Havanna. Collectivos down on Santa Fe, and the Subte is an easy walk down Callao (green and red lines). Short taxi ride will get you to Palermo, San Telmo, or Boca.
Safety. This is a very safe neighborhood, and really there wasn't a moment we didn't feel completely secure.
Eliana and Patrick were great help during check in/out and on the few occasions when we has questions.

This is really a wonderful apartment. The location is fantastic, close to beautiful shops, grocery stores, restaurants, etc. It is beautifully decorated (the photos do not do it complete justice). It is very well-maintained and clean, and it's in a lovely and safe building. It was a pleasure interacting with the owner and property manager. They were very responsive and accommodating before our visit as well as during. I would definitely recommend this property.
When we planned our last trip to Buenos Aires we were looking at various accommodation options; and initially we chose a different place to stay. At the very last moment, we changed our minds and instead booked this apartment. I am very glad that we did so.
This place is truly fantastic. The apartment itself is large and beautiful with lots of preserved details of the 1920s building, extraordinarily well equipped and furnished tastefully. We immediately felt at home and spent a wonderful time there.
The location is excellent as well; easy access to all means of public transport (with an underground station a few blocks away and a number of buses just around the corner) and a central position, so all places of interest can be reached quickly. Supermarket, bakery, greengrocery and a number of good restaurants are within easy reach. Although the apartment is located close to Av. Santa Fe there is no noise (which happens to be a rare thing in Buenos Aires) and you can sleep in after a long night out without being disturbed by buses roaring down the street.
In addition, both the owner and the property managers were charming and very helpful. When we arrived, we had a minor maintenance issue, which was promptly addressed and fully solved.
We will definitely consider staying at this place again when we return to Argentina.
I had the very good fortune of staying in this beautiful apartment while on an extended work assignment in Buenos Aires. I've rented apartments from VRBO before and I know there's always that little hesitation or doubt about what you're actually going to experience when you arrive. There need be no hesitation or doubt about this apartment. I would recommend this apartment to friends, coworkers or relatives without any reservations.
During my 7 month stay, I had clients and friends over to the apartment on several occasions. The local Argentinians all marveled at how nicely appointed the apartment was; including several specific comments on the furniture, artwork and laundry room. I've also visited several other apartments while here and I have yet to see one as nice.
If anything, the photos on the listing don't fully reflect how nice the apartment is on the inside. The ceilings are very high, which provides a open feel to the entire unit. The detail of the flooring, crown molding, doors and windows reflect the French style of the entire building. The more modern furnishings and artwork act as a nice complement to the traditional architecture.
I cook a great deal and found the kitchen to be fairly user friendly. It's not large by American standards, but that is typical for Buenos Aires. I cooked a dinner party for 10 people without too much difficulty. There are an abundance of place settings, utensils and wine glasses.
The location is ideal for exploring the city. Overall Buenos Aires is a very walkable city and many attractions and restaurants are within a safe and easy walk. There are also public transit options and plenty of taxis nearby.
The owners and property managers were very easy to work with and are continually making improvements to the apartment. During my stay, they installed a new stained glass interior door, which was a beautiful addition to an already beautiful apartment. I never had any significant issues with any of the apartment's applicances or other amenities. One of the air conditioning units stopped working once, but the property managers had the issue fixed very promptly.

My wife and I stayed in this charming Recoleta Apartment for the month of March 2012. The apartment was clean, charming, and very convenient for touring and everyday living. The neighborhood is very nice with good shopping and excellent restaurants very close. Check in and check out was simple and our requests were handled quickly and expertly during our stay. This was our 8th rental via VRBO and was definitely one of our best.
My wife and I and our two children (ages 7 and 8) stayed in the apartment for two months in November through January of 2011. We thought the apartment was great. It had plenty of room for a family of four, and all the amenities we needed. It was also clean and well-maintained. We had a few maintanance problems, which the owner and the property manager addressed very responsively. The drying feature on the washer/dryer broke, and the owner actually bought a new dryer for us to use. In the meantime, he reimbursed us for the cost of taking our laundry to the Lave Rap down the block. The neighborhood is great, with a smal park and playground one block away, two large grocery stores, many restaurants, and a small grocery store in the same block. Very safe and clean neighborhood, by big city standards. The description on VRBO and the photos accurately depict the apartment - you will not be upleasently surprised after reading the VRBO listing.
