Beautiful 250 year old Tuscany Villa Farmhouse with Private Pool ideally suited for discerning travelers that enjoy cooking and immersing themselves in local culinary delights. It is encircled by wide terracotta terraces, ancient mulberry trees and huge old cypresses, olive groves, and a garden of aromatic shrubs and fragrant herbs. Delicious meals can be prepared by local cooks or by the residents themselves in the fully equipped county dining room kitchen. The property is about 1 km from any other habitation.
The farmhouse is on two floors and is built of warm Sienese stone and brick. The property also features a barn across the courtyard that has its own great room, double bed, bathroom and kitchenette. A path through the gardens leads to a private swimming pool. The water is ozone treated and the pool itself is surrounded by terracotta sun terraces, luxuriant aromatic herbs, decorative shrubs, roses and lavender. It is overlooked by silvery olive groves. The back door of the house leads to a terrace with the old well and bread oven. There is private parking for up to 3 cars. There is plentiful garden furniture. Pool loungers and hammocks are provided.
The villa has been restored using original materials whenever possible. It features wood finishings recovered from original beams, old brick arches, terracotta flooring and beautifully veined antique doors. It is entirely furnished with antique country furniture, art and textile hangings from various parts of the world, Turkish rugs, comfortable sofas, quality bedding and efficient plumbing and lighting. The property tends to be light, airy and stylish and ideally suited for at home relaxation. All of the rooms have beautiful views. The massive old ceiling beams are of the local poplar wood and are a pleasing rich honey color. The rooms themselves are large and comfortable. Persian blinds and mosquito screens are fitted throughout. Two of the double beds can be divided into singles (85cm) upon request. Ground Floor: A fully equipped country dining room/kitchen that features a characteristic brick vaulted ceiling and an open fireplace. The kitchen has a five burner stove, American coffee maker, espresso pot, and a dishwasher. The room has comfortable sofas and a TV. Up to 10 people can dine comfortably. It is entered by a shady loggia and nearby is the pergola covered by jasmine and roses for eating out at a travertine marble table. There is also a study with a telephone and fax. The ground floor has one double/twin-bedroom (170/85 cm mattress), a bathroom with shower, a utility area with a washing machine and iron. There is a clothes line available for drying clothes. First Floor: The first floor has a large living room with fireplace and comfortable sofas. It has a big double/twin-bedroom (170/85 cm mattress) with windows on three sides. There is a small washbasin room off of the bedroom. At the other end of the living room is a corridor with fitted wardrobes. The corridor leads to the master bedroom (170 cm mattress) and spacious ensuite bathroom with tub. Barn: The old barn is located across the courtyard. It has been refurbished as a guest cottage and has a large double bedroom (170 cm mattress), a bathroom with shower, a kitchenette area and its own private terrace to one side.
