Enjoy a refreshing getaway in these two luxury villas on Lake Como, near the quiet, refined town of Varenna, the heart of the lake area for centuries. Built on a rocky promontory over the lake, Varenna is populated with beautiful old houses and romantic panoramas. Plentiful olive and cypress trees are testament to the mild climate at these Lake Como accommodations. A romantic walkway, abounding in flora, wends along the lakefront, linking the town center to Olivedo, a landing point for ferries and steamers. This pair of Lake Como villas includes two villas and lovely gardens, perfect for a large group.

Tenuta del Lago di Como is the combination of two separate houses, Casa Antonella 3 and Villa Angelina 3, on the same estate. They are separated by 500 meters, and have separate gardens. A short description of each is below; click on the link to take you to a full description and images of each house. The price for the entire estate is listed below.

Villa Angelina 3: Built in three parts, this Italian Lakes villa rental is divided into three sections: the main wing and two lofts (both on the second floor). In front of the villa, there is a patio with a table for al fresco dining. There is also a recreation room with a ping pong table and a card table. This can also serve as a living/dining room with fully equipped kitchen and bathroom, as well as Satellite TV. Lovely roses and olive trees grow in the large, enclosed garden. There is also a swimming pool which is shared with the owner, who occasionally lives in a back section of the villa. This villa rental sleeps a total of 15 people. Casa Antonella 3: Amidst a wealth of greenery, Casa Antonella 3 looks out over red-tiled roofs to a magnificent lakeshore view. A garden fronts the property, while the back of the house is at the end of a local road. The is also a swimming pool. A beautiful private garden is just outside the door, including a patio with tables and chairs, and shaded by a trellis of wisteria. Old olive and cypress trees dot the property. This property rental sleeps 12-14. Casa Pioppo This villa is a single-story detached home that is part of a large estate. Tucked away from the other homes on the estate, the house is surrounded by garden and trees. There is an outdoor barbecue and a shared tennis court for guest enjoyment. This property rental sleeps 4.

Available Amenities: For both villas: Satellite TV, washing machine, dishwasher, oven. Located in/around Villa Angelina (but shared): pool (approx. 8m x 5m; open mid-June to mid-September; maintenance included), second swimming pool, ping pong table, card table, internet connection, maid service (included in the rental price: two hours of cleaning on Tuesdays and two hours on Thursdays), final cleaning, garden maintenance, telephone for local calls (metered; charged by consumption). Extra Services (for both villas): Independent heating (metered; charged by consumption), portable crib (€100/week), extra maid service (€15/hour), mobile phone for international calls (pre-paid phone cards available for an extra charge), tennis court (€15/hr daytime, €20/hr evening. All extra services payable in cash, locally. Nearby Attractions: Hiking, golf club at Menaggio (4 km + 4 km by ferry), clay tennis court (500 m from the house, maintained by the local tennis club), neighboring lakes (Maggiore, Orta, Garda, Lugano). Please Note:Pets are not allowed.The father of the owner lives in the left wing of Angelina year round. The housekeeper lives on the property grounds but privacy is maintained at all times.

Located on a beautiful property with a view of the lake, this lovely Lake Como estate is only 4 km from the lakeshore town of Varenna. Varenna is a great starting point for visits to the north and center of Italy, as well as the southern base of the Swiss Alps. Both Milano Linate and Milano Malpensa airports are less than two hours away. Nearby attractions include the castle of Vezio and the Villa Monastero, a neo-classical garden offering a long walk along the lakeshore. Other resort towns of Lake Como, including Tramezzo, Bellagio, and Menaggio, are all easily reachable by ferry. Various Lake Como sights include ancient monuments, churches, and shopping areas.
