After many trips to Mexico searching for the perfect beach, we found it here in Barra de Potosi! Charming 2 bedroom home, each with it's own private bath plus a guest bath and ready for you to settle right in. Step out the front gate and you are on a miles long sandy beach great for walking, sunbathing, swimming, and lazing in the sun. Full time caretakers clean everyday (except Sundays) and will answer any questions you may have.
Keywords: 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath casita, miles of sand beach, perfect for small family or 2 couples. On property caretakers for security and daily cleaning. Everything you need for a true escape!
Our favorite things to do are fishing, beach walking, exploring the area, lying in the hammock or lounging with a favorite book, and enjoying the wonderful locals.
Karen Ross and Dick Nowak purchased this bungalow in 2008
Easy access to the airport and Zihuatanejo. Very comfortable house for 2 couples or small family. Very quiet pristine beach, warm swimming water, wonderful weather and the friendliest local people.
The local village has everything you need or the local 'pasajeras' and buses take you into Zihuatanejo. Our caretakers are a wonderful help to you in arranging whatever you might need or want to do.
We stayed at this beautiful home recently and are so impressed with the location, interior and exterior of the home. Friendly neighbors abound, many speak English and many are anxious for friends to share drinks and food. One thing that is not mentioned is that there are fans in every room and, even fans on the patio to keep you cool. Being so close to the beach allows a nice breeze to blow as well. Watching the Mexicans catch fish without even a fishing pole is a treat. Do not hesitate to rent this wonderful home. The caretakers are very friendly and accomodating, wishing only to make your visit very enjoyable. We will come back again and again.
Barra de Potosi is a local Mexican beach resort that has developed a reputation for great sand, sun, food and friends! The Enramadas at the laguna offer the best of local seafood and refreshing drinks while you relax and watch families enjoy the beach & surf. The village behind provides basic essentials, as well as a church and primary school. There are taxis available to visit the various nearby villages or to go all the way to Petalan or Zihuatanejo. For the adventurous there is also the local transportation of trucks and buses for those same trips. Lots of local color to see on those trips. About half a mile down the beach from the Enramadas is the bungalow. It has a wide and welcoming veranda facing the beach where you can spend all day enjoying the beautiful view. There is also a palapa with hammocks available for those who want to dig their toes in the sand!
The house is situated on a large lot that is maintained by caretakers. They are a helpful and friendly couple able to assist you with all your questions, if you speak Spanish. For those that don't, there are many ex-patriot Americans and Canadians living on the beach who can do a little translating for you. I enjoy having the entire front of the house open to the breeze off the beach, with the option of a protected rear veranda for when I want some serious heat! On the lot next door is a massage business run by an amazing woman named Lupe. She is usually booked in advance, so don't hesitate to make your appointment early! I can easily spend my days spread between three places: the front veranda or hammock, walking the beach to the Enramada for a meal, and spending as much time on Lupe's table as possible!!
This is a place for quiet time away, spending time with people you love and enjoy. For those more socially inclined, there's always a party somewhere on the beach or a short trip to Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo, making this a great place to recover the day after!! I can't say enough about it, it's a beautiful place to visit and I never want to leave!
I have spent two weeks (two different vacations) at this property and found it to be just what I was looking for. A beautiful beach, friendly little village, comfortable surroundings and peaceful. The caretakers on site are there to help and keep things maintained. The swimming right in front was excellent. There are small eateries close by that serve local seafood and Mexican dishes. It is a lovely place to stay.
Guided deep sea fishing, snorkeling and lagoon trips available in the village.
Pasajeras (Pickup trucks with bench seats in the back) taxis and buses and easily available at the gate.
