Sun and Sounds of the Sea!

During Christmas week, my husband and I rented a two bedroom condo at Viewpoint. Our condominium was comfortable and spacious with high-end amenities of a luxury hotel - full kitchen with granite countertops and modern appliances, marble floors throughout, a large living area separate from two bedrooms and bathrooms, free high-speed wifi, and most importantly of all, two balconies with breathtaking ocean views.
We arrived late at night so we were glad that we had taken advantage of the concierge service to have our refrigerator stocked with our choice of food and beverages. After a long day of travel it was great to relax on the balcony with a cold adult beverage while we listened to the waves lap against the rocky shoreline below.
Our week went all too quickly but we enjoyed lazing by the pool looking for the occasional whale (bring binoculars), walking around town talking to friendly shop owners, visiting the beaches, and soaking in the sun. Our only regret is that we didn't have more time, but we hope to return one day soon.
The condo is located at the top of a stunning cliff. We did not have to listen to any car or motorcycle traffic, the only sounds we heard were the ocean waves. This means that to buy food or go out you need to take a 5-10 minute walk down the hill into town, but once you arrive there are multiple stores where you can purchase all of your necessities. If you feel weighed down with your purchases you can pick up any of the numerous private cabs who will take you back up for 20 Pesos which is equivalent to about US $1-2.
Miscellaneous: if you drive or rent a car, Viewpoint provides secured parking. While we didn't use it, there is on-property laundry.
One thing I should mention is that there were few-to-no bugs! I'm a mosquito magnet and I remained bite-free for the entire vacation. I understand that they regularly treat the property for pests, so we didn't see the pests that you would expect to see in a tropical environment.
If you're contemplating visiting Viewpoint, don't hesitate. It's paradise!
