Wickyup Camp is located on one of the most beautiful and private lakes in all New England and is available to couples and families who not only want a quiet and relaxing vacation but also one full of activities and adventure. Five miles long, Tunk Lake has only 12 cabins on the southern 2/3 of the lake. Wickyup is perfect for your family vacation!
Local Shopping & Medical Facilities: Ellsworth is about 30 minutes from the Wickyup. It includes 2 grocery store chains (Hanaford & Shaws), WalMart, Fast Food (McDonalds, Wendys, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Friendly's, Taco Bell, etc), Home Depot, Lowes, Hospital, Walk-in Medical Clinic, movie theater, and much more.
Location: Tunk Lake: There is swimming, hiking, Mt. climbing, boating, fishing on Tunk Lake, and since the lake has so few cabins, boat traffic is very light. No Jet Skis are allowed (by law).
Bar Harbor is a beautiful old New England town and a must-see. ACADIA NATIONAL PARK is the northeast’s only National Park. Don't miss Schoodic Point which is part of Acadia National Park and is just up the coast in the Winter Harbor area.
Restaurants: There are many restaurants between Tunk Lake and Ellsworth, in the Winter Harbor area, and in Bar Harbor. There is something for everyone from all the major fast food chains (in Ellsworth) to very fine dining.
Golf: There are several golf courses in the area anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour away. Winter Harbor's golf course has views to the ocean from every hole!
