Relax and unwind in a charming new Spanish Hacienda casita located a short 15 minute drive from the Santa Fe Plaza. You will enjoy spectacular views of both the Jemez and Sangre de Cristo mountains from the quiet sitting room or your private covered portal. The casita is complete with a fully equipped kitchen, small dining area, Kiva fireplace in the sitting room, bedroom with a king bed, and bath with a jetted tub and shower. There is access from the bedroom to a central partially covered courtyard built in the traditional Spanish style. The casita has a distinctive Southwestern feel with tile floors, hand plastered walls, and beamed ceiling. It is completely furnished with colorful, tasteful and warm decor and art. Modern amenities such as a flat panel TV, wireless internet, CD/DVD player, new full-sized kitchen appliances, and private line cordless phone. The property is located northwest of downtown Santa Fe near Las Campanas off of Hwy. 599. The house is newly built and won the People's Choice award in 2009. The property owners also own two Select Registry bed and breakfast properties in the historic district of Santa Fe (El Farolito and the Four Kachinas Inn). The same care and attention to detail demonstrated in operating these two inns is shown here. Occupants of this casita will have access to free parking at one of the inns which is a 7 to 10 minute walk to the Plaza.
This property is owned and managed by the owner with no third party involvement. The owners also own two Select Registry qualified bed and breakfast inns in the heart of Santa Fe. They have been in the hospitality business for over 15 years. You can see their b&b inns. This vacation rental is apart of a recently built house so the accommodations are of the highest quality, clean, fresh and reflect the unique architecture of the Southwest.
Walt Wyss, Wayne Mainus purchased this apartment in 2009
This is a place where one can unwind from the usual day-to-day hassles. It is quiet and peaceful accommodation yet only a short drive to the center of old Santa Fe (Plaza). Enjoy the expansive views typical of the desert Southwest. You have a complete kitchen with full-sized quality appliances. You can enjoy to outdoors from two locations adjacent to the vacation rental. There is a portal (porch) on the north side with views of the Jemez Mountains and a protected courtyard immediately off of the bedroom. Both areas have comfortable patio furniture for your comfort.
Peaceful and quiet. Great place to relax and unwind yet close to many activities, restaurants, historic sites, Santa Fe Opera, museums, hiking, golfing, and shopping.
Absolutely the best guest house we have ever experienced! This newer property was very comfortable and had an over-sized jet tub that was amazing to relax in after a day of hiking. The modern kitchen had all we needed to prepare our diners and breakfasts. Nothing was overlooked in making our stay most enjoyable. The view from our porch was strikingly beautiful even at night when you could see the lights from Los Alamos and the surround homes on their spacious lots. I highly recommend this property to anyone who is planning a get-a-way in the Santa Fe area!
This property was everything I was looking for when picking a place to stay in Santa Fe. It is basically a one-bedroom apartment with a fireplace and spectacular mountain views. My mom and I wanted something peaceful and relaxing and we found it here. In the morning I sat outside with a cup of coffee and looked out into the mountains. At night I did the same thing with a glass of wine. When I no longer wanted to be on the front balcony I sat in the courtyard, which is lovely. The jetted tub was great. Almost every night I sat in the tub and relaxed. The apartment is part of a house but it has its own entrance, parking area, and porch. Even in the courtyard which is shared with the owners you have complete privacy. It is a 15-20 minute drive to town, and is close to the main highways so it was easy to get around. It is worth the extra money. I don't mind the extra expense at all.
My husband and I just returned from a lovely and peaceful stay at Wayne and Walt's casita. The views were amazing, the amenities tasteful and top notch, the privacy and location perfect. Not to mention, being a self-described "clean freak", the casita was meticulously presented. Rest assured, the photos are accurate!
It is obvious that Walt and Wayne take great pride in their business of hospitality, and any of their properties will be our first choice when visiting Santa Fe.
What a refreshing get a way from everything! This property was everything we hoped it would be and more. My husband and I decided to take a vacation for our seven year anniversary, and we really wanted something cozy and beautiful. That is definitely what we got.
The location was just what we wanted. It's close enough to Santa Fe, about a 10-15 minute drive, but far enough away that we had beautiful views, and most importantly, it was quiet and relaxing. The property was immaculately clean and adorably decorated. I loved all of the details of the tiles, pillows, and even the dishes. You can really tell that a lot of thought and care went into making this a great place to stay.
I thought from the photos that this rental might be part of an apartment complex, but it isn't. It may look like a large complex from outside, but the entire property belongs to the owners, and the listing is an attached mother-in-law unit, facing the mountains. The setup is wonderful. I was worried we were renting a condo out of a complex and we might have to worry about disturbing permanent-resident neighbors, but that isn't the case.
The heater here is wonderful, because it heats the floors! The fireplace is relaxing, as well as the two person therapeutic tub. They have a tv and movies, but to be honest, we didn't turn it on once. We did get plenty of use out of the surround sound system, and the free WiFi allowed us to stream whatever internet radio we wanted using our smart phones and an audio cable (self-provided). We loved cooking with all of the up-to-date and modern fixtures in the kitchen. This property is "green" so you can push a button if you want to use hot water instead of running cold water and waiting for it to get hot, I thought it was so awesome. One of my favorite things about this property was the windows, they were so cool the way they opened on a turning hinge.
The owner of the property also owns a couple of bed and breakfasts in the town of Santa Fe, so it is very convenient. They allow you to park there in the city for free, as well as use their amenities, and drink their coffee and tea! They told us great places to go while we were in town, as well as great places to visit for hiking near by. Basically, we got all the amenities of staying at a B&B, along with the privacy and atmosphere of a private vacation rental.
I would stay at this or any of their properties again, we absolutely loved every minute of it.
My wife and I stayed at this vacation rental for a fabulous week. Having traveled the world for 40 years and stayed in everything from tents to high end resorts, I would have to rate this in the top 10 worldwide. We also have owned our own B & B for 17 years, and visited hundreds of vacation rentals, inns, and B & Bs. Wayne, the owner, from the instant we shook his hand, wanted nothing less that a pefect stay for us. He was so informative for day trips, places to see and eat, and just relaxing (best massage I have ever had). The interior of the rental could be on the pages of any interior design magazine. The amenities and pure comfort could only be described as serene. Our only regret is that we only had a week to stay. We will be back...guaranteed.
Santa Fe (15 minute drive to central Plaza from the vacation rental) is a world class destination with activities appealing to guests with a wide variety of interests. Most activities center around the outdoors (hiking, skiing, golf, biking), creative arts (galleries, concerts, opera, art workshops), cultural festivals (Indian & Spanish markets, Fiestas de Santa Fe) and history of the area (museums, historical sites). Numerous fine dining restaurants and spas are also available.
