About Chris Aguero

We love Austin, and want to share it with others. We are originally from California, and enjoy the little-big town of Austin. It has lots of activities and enough culture to keep even the most experienced traveler's interest.

We enjoy traveling to great cities like Paris, Milan and New York. But we also enjoy the quaint charms of small walkable towns such as Italy's the Cinque Terra, and Portugal's Sintra.

We appreciate modern and historic architecture, and this little gem of a cottage has both. It's got good structure with modern features. Every year we try to improve upon it.

Christina and I enjoy fixing up properties, we own a few here in Austin. But, by far this downtown cottage is our favorite. It has the best location for walking to dinner, or taking a long walk around the lake.

Last year we rode bikes to the Austin City Limits (ACL) Festival. It was great to just peddle up to the event and not worry about parking.

We hope our visitors enjoy this perfect little cottage as much as we do.

The location of this property is perfectly situated between the city and the lake in a hip and upcoming area of Austin. Great walk-ability to bars, restaurants and shops.

The closest bars and restaurants are on Rainey Street which is fast becoming the best spot to party like a local. Rainey is a quaint street where the houses have been renovated into cool bars and great foods. There is even trailer food area with lots of choices. Parking is crazy on Rainey Street, so most people who stay at the cottage just walk there. The walk is less than a 1/2 mile (.4 to be exact), and is worth it to miss the parking fees for most people.

With a car, the entire Austin area is free to explore, including the hill country, the worlds best BBQ, and great outlet shopping.

What makes this cottage unique

While this house boasts all the comforts of home, it is the location that made us grab it the first day it came on the market. The house is in impeccable condition, retaining its rich history, while feeling modern and clean.

The property was built in 1926 and has been fully remodeled. It offers craftsman quality with modern amenities.

We stock the Kitchen with snacks and treats to welcome guests and make them feel at home. There's coffee, tea and creamers to start the day perfectly. In the frig, you'll usually find farm fresh eggs, almond milk and even ice cream in the freezer.

The Kitchen is fully functional as it is beautiful. With granite counter tops, ample storage and double stainless steel sink, it has everything you will need, including microwave, gas stove, oven, and even a washer/dryer.

If you enjoy cooking you will find the kitchen is fully outfitted. There are copper-bottomed pans, spices, olive oil, and serving dishes. If you are a take-away foodie like me, you will find plates, dining ware, and wine glasses to make your meal special.

The best part of this place is its location. A nice walk to the lake, or stumbling distance from the best bars in Austin. The home even has parking off street for up to 3 vehicles, and usually some on-street parking as well.

Loving the Cross Street House! Best vacation ever!

It is the prefect cute little house in a 'walking distance' neighborhood. The house is modern, super clean and has all you need during a stay in downtown Austin. 2 bedrooms with plenty of space for your luggage, open kitchen - living room, internet, new bathroom with a shower, towels provided!!! Upon arrival the fridge is filled with water, sodas, a few snacks. Even the kitchen cabinets are filled with pasta, sauce, popcorn, wine.... We really fell in love with our Cross Street house, we even got the chance to meet the owners who gave us some insider tips, where to rent bikes, which trail to use around the lake, where to find breakfast tacos around the corner. You could even enjoy breakfast in the little backyard but in July it was way too hot.
Rainey Street is very close by and offers plenty of individual bars and restaurants. It is cool to explore the neighborhood by bike, we hardly needed our car.
If you ever come to Austin, do not book a hotel if you love the local life and experience of a city! If you need some advice, feel free to contact us!

What a wonderful house this is! It is located in a PERFECT area for downtown Austin fun. It is beautiful inside with great amenities!!! Everything was spotless and perfect when we arrived. Also has a neat little backyard to enjoy. We would recommend this house highly and stay again!!

This is my second stay at this property. A lot of care and attention to detail went into the updates the owner did on this property. The house is on a quiet street in a great location. Close to Town Lake and trails and convenient to the downtown area. This property is a gem.

Cross Cottage Wonderful

Perfect Austin cottage in a great location!

The house was even better than I expected. I loved the layout and I felt like there was more space than the pictures portrayed. Coming from the airport I was nervous we were in a bad neighborhood but the next day when we started to explore I realized that we are right on the edge of a great part of town and centrally located for all the great things to do in Austin.
