We love Austin, and want to share it with others. My partner, Chris and I are originally from California, and moved to Austin in 1996. Austin is a great little-big town with lots of activities and enough culture to keep even the most experience traveler's interest. We enjoy traveling to great cities like Paris, Milan and New York. But we also enjoy the quaint charms of small walkable towns such as Lucca, the Cinque Terra, and Germany's Blankenese.

We appreciate modern and historic architecture, and hope to visit Spain and Portugal soon.

The property was built in 1926 and has been fully remodeled. It offers craftsman quality with modern amenities. The location of this property is perfectly situated between the city and the lake in a hip and upcoming area of Austin. Great walk-ability to bars, restaurants and shops.

With a car, the entire Austin area is free to explore, including the hill country, the worlds best BBQ, and great outlet shopping.

While this house boasts all the comforts of home, it is the location that made us grab it the first day it came on the market. The house is in impeccable condition, retaining its rich history, while feeling modern and clean.

We stock the Kitchen with snacks and treats to welcome guests and make them feel at home. There's coffee, tea and creamers to start the day perfectly. In the frig, you'll usually find farm fresh eggs, almond milk and even ice cream in the freezer.

The Kitchen is fully functional as it is beautiful. With granite counter tops, ample storage and double stainless steel sink, it has everything you will need, including microwave, gas stove, oven, and even a washer/dryer.

If you enjoy cooking you will find the kitchen is fully outfitted. There are copper-bottomed pans, spices, olive oil, and serving dishes. If you are a take-away foodie like me, you will find plates, dining ware, and wine glasses to make your meal special.

The best part of this place is its location. A nice walk to the lake, or stumbling distance from the best bars in Austin. The home even has parking off street for up to 3 vehicles, and usually some on-street parking as well.

This is my second stay at this property. A lot of care and attention to detail went into the updates the owner did on this property. The house is on a quiet street in a great location. Close to Town Lake and trails and convenient to the downtown area. This property is a gem.

CROSS COTTAGE WONDERFUL

Cross Cottage was a great place for our family weekend in Austin. Street was quite and accommodations were quaint. We took advantage of the park nearby and love the east side vibe. The house was even better than I expected. I loved the layout and I felt like there was more space than the pictures portrayed. Coming from the airport I was nervous we were in a bad neighborhood but the next day when we started to explore I realized that we are right on the edge of a great part of town and centrally located for all the great things to do in Austin.

We had a wonderful stay! Neightborhood was quiet, and the location perfect! Cottage is stocked with lots of muchies and stuff to make your stay even more enjoyable! Beds were really comfy compared to hotel beds and cottage was super clean! We will definately be staying here again when in the area!!!! :)

WHAT A DELIGHT!

I rarely bother to write reviews, and the only reason I hesitate to write this one is that I would like to keep this gem a "secret" so that it is more likely to be available in the future :) I just have to give the owner, Chris, kudos for making this little cottage a lovely, cozy and functional home to stay at! My husband and I were in town for UT graduation, and had his mother with us; therefore we needed two rooms. Having this house was a perfect arrangement, allowing each of us personal space, privacy and comfort. (She loved the oriental robes, by the way, and wants to know where she could get one!) We enjoyed sitting out on the front porch, enjoying the peace and charm of this eclectic neighborhood. Every detail was thought out in a very organized manner, making it simple to watch tv, access the wifi, make coffee, wash dishes, etc. Even the hair dryer was instantly accessible, yet able to tuck away without having to unplug and wrap the cord. There was every toiletry, condiment and kitchen accessory available if we forgot something. All in all a great experience, as opposed to a downtown hotel with parking fees, elevators, etc. Great location and easy access to lake, parks, downtown, I-35, UT campus. We definitely plan to return as our daughter has secured a job in Austin! Thanks so much, Chris!
