Gene and I have been married for over 26 years and have 2 daughters. We love to camp, hike, mountain bike and fish. We enjoy being outdoors. 11 years ago we traded in our home in the suburbs for one in the woods--with a zipline over a creek in our front yard! Our family loves to travel to warm sunny beaches--and we have been to many of them. About a decade ago we discovered the Caribbean side of Mexico and have been hooked ever since!
Michele Christian purchased this house in 2009
We chose this location after coming back from a cruise to the Caribbean to celebrate our 20th anniversary. On the cruise we had visited some of the most stunning beaches in the Caribbean--St. Thomas, St. John, Aruba, Bonaire, Grenada, Dominica, and San Juan. After this trip we looked at each other and said, 'those beaches were wonderful, but not any better than 'our' Tulum area beaches--and much more expensive.' We are very particular about what we expect in a beach and the area beaches, especially Xcacel beach, meet those expectations. On a trip to Mexico we stayed at Chan Chemuyil, and felt like we had discovered a 'secret'. During this trip, we were able to purchase an 'end' house (farthest away from the main road, backing up to the jungle)... and we have been so thankful ever since! We feel Casa De La Paz has one of the best locations in the development and are delighted to be able to share it with you!
Casa De La Paz has a simple washing machine AND in house wireless internet. It is in an ideal location!! It is near the beaches, activities and attractions that the area has to offer. The inside and outside are completely remodeled. In addition, the outdoor shower can't be beat! Our desire is that Casa De La Paz can be a warm, relaxing, very affordable 'home base' for you to enjoy all the activities that this area has to offer.
Thank you for your generosity renting your house to strangers, I am sure I would
rent again from you, I hope pretty soon!
From the beginning Michele was wonderful to work with- very helpful and replied to questions quickly. The house is lovely and very well equipped. The location is terrific - quiet neighborhood with many friendly folks. We enjoyed the private backyard with a door to a jungle area filled with beautiful birds and interesting small animals. The casa is in easy driving distance to cenotes, Tulum ruins, several terrific beaches, Yal Ku lagoon, a monkey sanctuary, a number of good restaurants. shopping, etc. We had a grand time.
The listing accurately described the location, appearance and amenities. It was clean and well-maintained, and Michele a joy to work with. The casa came completely equipped so we were able to take full advantage of Xcacel and Playa Akumal - the beach chairs, umbrella, towels, snorkel gear and boards. The location was very convenient to the ruins, cenotes and theme parks. We had one of the best vacations yet as a family. Thanks Michele for sharing your wonderful home. I would definitely recommend!
Our experience was a 5 star! Michelle was so helpful in all aspects of helping us plan our week in Chemuyil. If you want a nice stay away from the resort life, this will do it for you. We liked to explore the area and went to several beaches, cenotes, ruins, near-by towns and even Xceret, which we highly recommend. Great jumping off place to come home to everyday. Although the beach is within walking distance I would recommend the car if you are taking your beach supplies. It was the best beach we saw on our trip. A small 10 peso per person charge to enter the beach is reasonable considering it goes to the turtle fund. Plenty of parking if you go early. We found the home clean and adequate for our needs. A huge library of movies and the washing machine was a plus since we were in country for 3 weeks (with only a week here). The king size bed was ubber-comfy! The air conditioning was a great benefit for hot nights. The property manager just lives down the block and was extra helpful with anything we needed during our stay. Michelle sent us detailed things to do on our stay there, actually way more than we were able to do in a week. You will not be lacking in things to do. Thanks for a great stay.
We rented this lovely little house with our daughter and her husband. Perfect space for 4. We walked to the beach many days, had meals in the little town, saw a local wedding in the field of the town. All in all , it was perfect. It was easy to prepare meals in the kitchen and to take picnics to the beach. Easy driving to many attractions. We would come back.
This casa is a cute and cozy getaway from the craziness of the Cancun area. It is located in a small neighborhood across a busy highway from the beach. The location is excellent to be able to visit many sights and to see different areas. A car is a must. The property is well maintained and problems were dealt with immediately. We were fortunate to get local recommendations. The caretakers and neighbors were all very friendly and helpful.
The house was small which we knew and very well maintained The beds were good.It was a 2 minute walk to a small cenote which we could swim in.It was a 15 minute walk to a fantastic beach with no development and few people on week days .Also a larger cenote there.A 10 minute walk to the small town or another larger cenote.
