Photos and Description of the Austin vacation house rental
3-2 with Giant Pecan Tree in center atrium

We call it the tree house because when it was renovated in 2005, the addition was built around a 200 year old pecan tree that resides in an atrium surrounded by glass in the middle of the house. The Tree House has two full bedrooms and two full bathrooms with a ~600 square foot loft. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, the second bedroom has a queen sized bed and the loft has a queen sized bed and a large living room. The house has two living rooms, a 10 person dining room and a large kitchen. The front living room has a ski ball table (just like chuck-e-cheese). This is a great house for entertaining. When the weather is nice, you can open two glass garage doors to open the living room up to the back porch where there's a 6 person outdoor dining table. In addition, the backyard features a fire pit and washer court. The main living room has a 55' HD flat screen TV with at&t Uverse and all the channels.

Why Gaines chose Austin

I love this house. It's a really great place to live. I can walk to all the great places on South Congress or take a short cab downtown. Also, the house is great for entertaining. I knew I wanted it from the second I walked in the front door for the first time.

What makes this house unique

Giant Pecan Tree in the middle of the house, 20' disco ball in the living room (as big as I could fit through the door), zero scape yard (south Austin style), great open floor plan, skee ball table, glass garage doors that open onto the back porch, etc. You won't find a more unique/awesome house.

South Congress is the place to be. Great restaurants such as Woodland, Vespaio, Guerro's, Home Slice, Botticelli's, Pearla's, Hopdoddy and more are all within half a mile. Guerro's Grove, The Continental Club and The Gallery are great live music venues also within half a mile. In addition, you've got The Trailer Park ( a park with around 10 food trailers). On Saturday's and Sundays ( and during most major events) vendors set up selling crafts and local art in several locations along South Congress. And it's always easy to flag a taxi if you want to head downtown (or take the bus for $1).
