We visited Gulf Shores for spring break with our 4 kids. Our kids range in age from 2-15 and although the condo is relatively small, it has a great use of space and we were very comfortable during our stay. The balcony is great and my husband and I enjoyed our coffee on the lounge chairs every morning. The morning view and evening sunsets from the balcony are spectacular. We loved having the convenience of both the pool and the beach. Everything was clean and beautifully decorated. The television in the living room is great because we were able to connect it to our Netflix and Amazon Prime accounts and were able to watch movies and videos as we liked. The only thing I would recommend for the owners it to upgrade some of the provided small appliances. We used the blender once but it smelled like it was overheating, so we turned it off and my daughter brought her hairdryer, so I didn't have to use the one provided, which had definitely been around since the 80's. I think a less than $50 investment for these two items would be beneficial as they are also fire hazards. We enjoyed dinner at The Hangout and Lulu's. They are both fun, family-friendly restaurants although, the food at The Hangout is overpriced. We liked being able to choose to eat at the condo or eat out and we grilled dinner a couple of nights at the condo. Overall, we had a great time and can't wait to go back.
This was our second stay at the Gulf Shores Surf and Racquet Club...we love it there! This is a very nice condo! It has beautiful views of the pool and bay and a great beach! Don't let it being across the street from the beach deter you...this part of the street is typically quiet with rarely any cars! This is a great place for families too! It is close to restaurants, shopping, etc. This unit is especially nice (comparative to the other one we have stayed in)...it is well decorated and updated! The master bedroom is a little crowded with a king bed and the master bathroom is small, but both are doable. I guess there has to be some compromise for a king size bed and a 2nd bathroom (not all units at the Surf and Racquet Club have 2 bathrooms...the other one we had stayed in had a much smaller living room and only 1 bathroom). The pool is not heated, so swimming in it for Spring Break was very cold. I'm sure it warms up pretty quickly once the weather starts getting much warmer. There is a hot tub, but that was usually crowded because the pool was so cold. We will definitely stay here again!
Overall condo sight was nice and very quiet. Unit was a little smaller than other 2 bdrm condos I've stayed in but clean and we had a good time. Housekeeping concerns: sliding glass doors in main living area would not lock. spare bdrm- needs blackout drapes as light from outside kept the room well lit the entire night. door off of master going into bath area would not shut.
Great complex. This condo was perfect for my family which includes two older teens for fall break from college. This condo is very clean and well cared for. It was well appointed and served our needs well. My only complaint which has nothing to do with this owner is amazingly enough the adults who stayed in the hot tub every night until 3:00 am talking very loudly. All in all, we would stay here again.
