Welcome to our lovely oasis in the center of the eclectic 78704 neighborhood!
The Sparrow House is beautiful and chic, yet laid back and comfortable. Our goal was to create a space as well thought out and lovely as the boutique hotels that we're so fond of, but with the added privacy, spacious kitchen, and plentiful outdoor space that a real home provides! We love sharing our home and it has been a joy thinking of every detail to make your stay happy and comfy! The location allows you to enjoy all of what Austin is known for and have private space to relax when you want some time to decompress.
There are two bedrooms with queen size beds and one bedroom with a twin daybed that will sleep one comfortably. That room also contains a gorgeous marble top desk perfect for a working vacation. We also offer free WiFi.
The fantastic marble spa shower with a rain fall shower and horizontal jets is an incredible way to wake up in the morning! We also provide shampoo, conditioner and body wash and fluffy 100% cotton towels.
The living room is open to the kitchen and provides a comfortable space to relax. There are ample windows and skylights, which give lovely views of the oak trees and allow sunlight to shower in throughout the day. We provide complimentary access to thousands of movies on Netflix and television on HuluPlus via the Roku device. Bring your iPod or iPhone to dock at the integrated stereo. All the while someone can be cooking up a beautiful meal in the spacious kitchen.
The dining room with large windows looks out onto the backyard and deck.. It's a perfect room for a relaxed dinner or a poker game.
The Sparrow House is particularly special because of its hundred year old city protected heritage Live Oaks, Pecan trees, Magnolia tree, a Red bud tree and two of the tallest Mount Laurels in the city.
The back deck has a covered outdoor living area with a dining table, lounge chairs and a swing. It's a perfect spot for an event or to host a dinner party. There is also a great front entry courtyard where you can sit back and have a beer or chill on the hammock. Between the 2 areas, there is approximately 600 square feet of patio/deck space with two outdoor dining tables and a bonus outdoor living room!
Sparrow House is close to just about everything great about Austin. Downtown is maybe 3 miles away. South Lamar, South Congress and South First Street all have a great variety of food, either in a trailer or brick and mortar. There are great neighborhood bars nearby. If physical and mental health are more important, you are a just a nice 20 minute stroll from Lady Bird Lake and Hike and Bike Trail.
