Photos and Description of the Good Hart vacation cabin rental
Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

Beautifully renovated Bliss Log Cabin with Fantastic Views of Lake Michigan. Shared Beach Access. Go for a hike or long bike ride ( on the Tunnel of Trees). In the evening, enjoy cocktails and dinner with one of the premier views in Michgan. Watch a glorious sunset and then gather around the outdoor fireplace and cook your S'mores.

Due to the location, the evenings are typically 'sweatshirt weather', so you'll use the fireplace. You will hardly ever see a mosquito...how often can you say that in Michigan!

Great for Fall COLOR TOURS. Works well for 2 Couples. Tour, Come back and Grill, have a fire and watch the sunset.

Keywords: If you like to bike, hike, boat, golf, antique, color tour, or just relax in Pure Michigan, this Bliss Log Cabin is for you. Great for a family of 4 ( will accomodate 5 pretty well ), two couples or 4 bicyclists.

About The Owner

My wife and I are from Brighton, fell in love with this area for its Old Northern Michigan lure. If you want the Bay Harbor experience, this is not it!

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2006
Why The Owner chose Good Hart

Lake Michigan, charming area, great people and a cabin that we knew had great potential ( which we have acheived ). It's a great area...whether you want to have a quiet vacation of reading, touring, etc. or if you want an active vacation of hiking, biking, kayaking, etc.

What makes this cabin unique

Lower Blood Pressure! Great area to hike, bike ride, boat, kayak, walk the beach ( best at Wilderness ), and tour Northern Michigan. Also a great launching point if you want to go to the Sault, Mackinac Island, access all the great golf, etc.

Located a few hundred yards from extensive State forest land...great for hiking. Perhaps the most popular place to Road Bike in Michigan, with enough 'seasonal roads' and snowmobile trails to keep the mountain bikers happy too. Get Away from it on Lake Michigan

This quaint cabin is perfect if you want to get away from it all (only a DVD player). The cabin was clean and tastefully furnished. The many windows allowed the fresh breeze to flow through. We spent our days hiking, touring the towns 30 minutes away (Harbor Springs and Mackinaw City), or looking for petoskey stones on the rocky beach below. Our favorite part was enjoying the view of serene Lake Michigan from the two adirondak chairs and watching boats or ships pass by. At least four lighthouses are visible on a clear night. The outdoor fireplace is the perfect ending to any day. We made s'mores almost every night. We definitely hope to return some day.

Bliss.

Our family of five could not have found a more perfect cottage for our Good Hart vacation. The owners were excellent in their communication with us, answering questions and even providing us with beautiful photos of the immediate and surrounding areas to help us plan our stay. Our three young children enjoyed the property to its fullest, utilizing the well-groomed lawn for games and the spacious patio for practice riding their bikes. Both the interior and exterior décor were exceptional – we could tell that quite a bit of thought and planning went into the purchase of every bit of furnishing, linens, etc. Their continued upkeep of this historic cottage is meticulous. Our daily breakfasts were enjoyed inside and our evening dinners were enjoyed outside on the patio – both provided breathtaking views of the lake and nightly sunsets. Late evenings were spent by the enormous outdoor fieldstone fireplace, snacking on s’mores, listening and watching for the occasional boat to go by, and simply relaxing in the cool Michigan air. Blissful times and wonderful memories!

A Great Place for a Family Getaway!

My family and I had a wonderful time at this cottage! Located along the Tunnel of Trees, this cottage was close to many interesting towns and attractions, yet removed enough to enjoy the peace of the beautiful countryside. The cottage is nicely decorated and had ample space for our family of five. It has a wondeful backyard where the kids could play and the fireplace was perfect for the cooler evenings. From the bluff, you can watch the boats pass by and enjoy the quiet sunsets. The Good Hart store is a must and only minutes away, along with Mackinac Island, Petosky, and Harbor Springs. We spent a lot of time at the sandy beach nearby. It was perfect for lazy afternoons! Also, the owner was very easy to work with and knowledgeable about the area. Made planning our vacation very easy.

Particularly if you like it quiet, you'll love the location----- at 3 AM by the outdoor fireplace, the loudest sound was the Lake Freighter's Diesel engine 6 miles out in Lake Michigan--- and that was faint. The house is a jewel; great for four people and VERY clean. Probably a bit tight for more than four but great space for that many and of course the Lake views are tremendous--- we calculate one can see 50 miles West-- the shoreline dips to the East or you could see that far in that direction. A short commute to The Fish restaurant (get the Walleye) Harbor Springs, Petoskey, Macinac or for that matter the bridge. But Cross Villages is worth the trip for the very interesting gallery and the legendary Leggs Inn.

Amazing View and Cute Cottage!

Our family stayed at the cottage for a week and had the best time ever!! Great location on the Tunnel of the Trees, Amazing View of Lake Michigan and the coolest fireplace! The cottage was perfectly located to all the area attractions, we spent a loof time at the beach down the road (5 minute drive), but was also perfectly located for day trips to Mackinaw, Petoskey and Harbor Springs. A couple musts are dinner at Leggs Inn to watch the sunset, buying a frozen chicken pot pie from the Good Hart store, flying a kite at the beach and even a night inside the cute cottage to watch a movie! The owners of this home were so great to work with and would definately recommend this cottage for your next up north vacation!
