Perfect for the long-term corporate stay, musicians and film makers, visiting doctors/nurses/health care professionals or those traveling to Baltimore for leisure! Furnished from the kitchen to the bath, this historic row home (built in 1880) offers dining room seating for four, a relaxing tub when you want to unwind, and all utilities (including WiFi and basic cable) included in the rental cost.

In a city known for unique neighborhoods, Hampden is one of Baltimore’s most distinctive and artsy. Walk 7 blocks to restaurants, shops and local events. Only 10 minutes by car, bus or Light Rail from downtown, this citified neighborhood is bordered by beautiful green spaces, accessible to museums, universities and entertainment. The New York Times loves Hampden (see #8):http://travel.nytimes.com/2012/09/23/travel/36-hours-in-baltimore.html?_r=0

Close to Johns Hopkins University, University of Baltimore, and Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). The row home is literally walking distance to the Homewood (main) campus of Johns Hopkins University. It's less than 10 minutes from MICA, located in the nearby Mt. Royal neighborhood. For fitness enthusiasts, the beautiful Druid Hill Park is 5 minutes away. About Courtney Block

Professional woman who is the primary caregiver for my Dad who has mid-stage dementia. My home is a rental property as my current focus is on caregiving.

Courtney Block purchased this townhome in 2004

Why Courtney Block chose Baltimore

It's the 'best kept secret in Baltimore', according to my last renters. Some adjectives the couple used were: comfortable, creative and relaxing. As an artist, my work and work purchased through the years adorns the walls. This is not a bland hotel space...it is the home of a creative spirit. Although I like children, the very young may think my art objects are toys. The home is not suited for children under 8 years of age. There are 13 steps from the first floor to the second floor and 10 steps from the first floor to the basement.

What makes this townhome unique

I walked in the front door and knew this home was the one for me. I have filled the space with my own artwork and those of friends collected over the years.

Excellent Experience

  • 5 of 5
I was happy to have had the opportunity to stay here while in Baltimore. The property was exactly as shown in the pictures. The owner was very accommodating to all of our needs. We would recommend this property to anyone interested in staying in a clean, friendly environment with a secure back yard and within walking distance to catch the MTA. We plan on making our return to Baltimore a yearly event. Thank you for making us feel at home while we were away from home. The decorating is exquisite!

Loved it!!!

  • 5 of 5
I am a travel nurse whose "corporate housing" wasn't up to par. I found this listing and the owner was very quick to respond. She was very accommodating, even going down to property on very short notice to make sure it was warm enough for me for when I got in. Even helped me bring in my bags.

The place was great. Exactly like the pictures. Very clean. Very convenient. Loved 36th Street. Very cool place to shop and eat and only about 7 neighborhood blocks away. I felt very safe in the neighborhood and never encountered anything that would make me feel other wise. Everyone I worked with kept saying what a nice area the Hampden neighborhood was. They were all impressed with me staying there.

Street parking can be tough if arriving after 5:30pm during the week and Sunday however there is the Boy Scout building parking lot at end of block. And after all isn't that a part of living in the city, right?

Would highly recommend this property to others. Was a very enjoyable 3 week stay.

Owner's Response: Mary Ellen was a thoughtful guest, and I was sorry to see her leave. I know I'm not the only one who loves my Hampden neighborhood.

Excellent rental

We had a delightful stay. House was just as advertised, well-maintained and clean. We are planning on returning to Baltimore this fall for another stay and will contact this owner to see if we can use the place again.

Absolutely no problems at all. Large food market is a short drive away and 36th street has wonderful stores and restaurants (Dogwood is top quality). Friendly neighborhood.
