The Beach:

Fishing & Boating :
With five freshwater rivers, the Intracoastal Waterway, swamps, saltwater creeks, bays, inlets and miles of coastline along the Atlantic Ocean, Georgetown County offers an endless adventure for boaters and fishermen. The black-water rivers in Georgetown County are beautiful and bountiful. Winding through miles of cypress swamp, these waters shelter bass, bream, warmouth and catfish year-round. Boaters also run up these rivers. They come to view the native species of birds and other wildlife, and to picnic on the dandy shores that breach the curtain of cypress and marsh on the water’s edge. Murrells Inlet provides boat, kayak, jet skies, and Wave Runner rentals or parasailing.
Biking:
The Neck is a paved cycling and walking trail through woods, residential
areas and over bridges from Murrells Inlet to Pawley’s Island. It encompasses 12 scenic miles. Beach roads are also very bicycle-friendly and are great for walking and inline skating as well.
Hunting:
Gun enthusiasts can head out to the county’s back country, where they’ll find several
Quail-hunting and sporting-clay facilities.
Huntington Beach State Park-
This 2,500-acre park is considered one of the finest bird-watching domains on the east coast. Among the waterfowl are the great blue heron, snowy egret, oystercatcher and eastern brown pelican. Hikers can venture through a nature trail that extends into the forest and winds along boardwalks in the marsh, where visitors can view alligators from
observation decks.

Brookgreen Gardens:
This is the country’s first public sculpture garden and has the largest collection of figurative sculpture garden, you will find the Lowcountry Zoo where you can see native animals in their natural habitats. There is also the only known aviary built over an existing cypress swamp.
