Overview

Historic Center Apartment Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms in the historic center near the Duomo sleeps up to 9 AC

This important brand new 3 bedroom apartment is Located in the 'piano nobile' of count Franchini Stappo's Palace. Built in the 'Firenze capitale' architectural style, this property is very sunny bright and spacious, and, quite an unique feature for an historic building, it has a modern and functional elevator. The apartment (153 yards,140 square meters with 14,7 feet high ceilings) is fully air conditioned and high speed WIFI covered (Telecom Fibra, the fastest connection available in Italy) and located in the center of Florence a short walk from the Duomo at the noble floor of a 1850 aristocratic building. An Elevator has just been installed and it is ready to use. It is very rare to find an historic building in the center of Florence which has an elevator. This apartment has very luxury features such as top end bathrooms (Devon & Devon equipment), top quality beds and mattresses, quarter-sawn white oak floors in a herringbone pattern throughout, high end kitchen, very high ceilings (14,7 feet! 4,50 metres!), beautiful rich stuccos and many antique paintings and furnitures ect. NO cheap quality furnitures. As a matter of fact, this apartment was until very recently the private home of a count of local aristocracy and has now been completely renovated to add a touch of freshness to the classic style. The very large windows of the big drawing room and of 2 of the bedrooms look into a nice large historic street with some trees and classic buildings. This very bright sunny and spacious three large bedrooms property is articulated on one level only, it is fully air conditioned (every room can choose its temperature) and has a top speed WIFI. The third bedroom is separate by a corridor which grants a quiet sleep even amongst a group of friends or a large family with children. The house is in the most beautiful safe and sought after residential area in the historical centre of Florence. It is very close to Four Seasons hotel, next to the beautiful Piazza d'Azeglio (one of the very few playgrounds for children in the green), and a short walk from the Duomo, Santa Croce, the Synagogue and the main museums and popular shopping and restaurant areas of Sant'Ambrogio. One of the best ice cream maker is just on block away and the wonderful freshfood market of Sant'Ambrogio just 2 bloks away. There is also an organic food shop and restaurant 50 metres away. It is a very Florentine part of the town, where real Florentines still live. It is possible to rent a private parking for 25€/day in the historic garden downstairs.

An important factor to consider in order to chose this property is that this property is always maintained up to a 'as new' conditions. As a matter of fact, the owner is very attentive to all details; regular in depth professional cleaning, frequent periodical renovations and interventions make this property always IDENTICAL to the photos you see on this site and appliances and fornitures are in excellent status

perfect again

This was our second time in this gorgeous property. It is as perfect and immaculate as the first time: the property looks exactly as when we were here over two years ago. All is brand new, immaculate and spotless as if we were the first guests! Guido is always very helpful and a very kind host. He greeted us warmly and helped us in no time whenever we needed him. The feeling of having hugely high ceilings is somehow surprising and make you "breath" the luxury of the building and the location. Our group of 8 had plenty of room and the 3 very large bedrooms were extremely comfortable, spacious and sunny. The shower is huge and the devon bath is stunning. After having been in several other properties in Italy and being seasoned travelers we are definitely enthusiast about this one which is by far the best property we were in.

We loved walking to all the sites and to the local farmer market which is only two block away. Our favorite destination for breakfast "Serafini" is great and we ate there every day.

Honestly, could I rate Guido's property six stars I would not hesitate.

We will certainly stay here again and we strongly recommend to book with confidence: you cannot go wrong with this property!

Elegant and spacious apartment

  • 5 of 5

My family of 4 stayed here for 8 nights over the Thanksgiving holiday. This apartment is superb: very comfortable and perfectly located, about 10-20in walk from the sights, but in a great neighborhood with wonderful restaurants and conveniences nearby, such as a supermarket (the Coop), a farmer's market (Sant'Ambrosio market), great little cafes and restaurants, a good local car rental company (Maggiore) and some nice shops. We liked staying a little bit outside of the tourist zone as it was quieter and more authentic. What makes this apartment very special, though, is the owner who is thoughtful and attentive. He provided excellent support when we arrived and answered our questions very quickly. I emailed Guido some questions in advance about our plans to cook a nice Thanksgiving supper and he made sure we had everything we needed, including purchasing a larger oven so we could cook a turkey. He even lent us table linens so we could set a lovely table. The kitchen was very well stocked and the apartment was beautifully cleaned. Little details I liked: being able to open the kitchen window and get fresh air, super comfortable beds, a great shower and luxurious bathtub, nice towels and linens. I highly recommend this apartment and hope to visit again soon.

Lovely 3 BR in Florence

  • 5 of 5

Stayed 3 nights with 3 friends. The apt. is lovely - very light, high ceilings, spacious,antiques... Beds are comfortable. The manager, Guido, was very attentive and responded to the one small item that came up within one hour with a repair person. It is very Florentine and charming. Good AC too. We were extremely pleased.

Location feels like part of the residential area, but is only a couple of blocks from the start of the tourist zone. We walked everywhere and only used cabs for the train station with our luggage. There is a grocery store about 3 blocks away.

Highly recommend Coquinarius as our best meal in Florence and one of the best of our trip. The pear and pecorino raviolette was wonderful. Everything there was tasty. It is not a far walk - maybe 5 blocks.

Fabulous Florence apartment

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was more than what we expected, it was beautiful, very modern, spacious, and clean. The location was perfect, great local feel, yet close enough to the center. The owner was very helpful with resturant recommendations, excellent actually, and help with transportation. I would definitely stay again and recommend it to friends.

Fantastic Stay

  • 5 of 5

The apartment and its location are fantastic!

We stayed for 5 nights during the last week in September 2014 and had 5 people in our party – two couples and one single woman. The photos are an accurate depiction of the apartment. The rooms are spacious, clean and very nicely decorated and had been renovated recently. The ceilings are very high, perhaps between 16 and 18 feet high. The kitchen is very modern and has all new cabinets and appliances, including a clothes washing machine and a dishwasher. The apartment is located on the second floor as defined in the U.S. of a beautiful building.

Unloading and transfer of keys: when we arrived (by rented car), Guido and his brother greeted us at the door of his building and helped us with our luggage. With the help of the elevator, the unloading was very easy. We then sat down and settled up with Guido who spent some time telling us about the history of his family – which is very interesting in itself. (If I understood him correctly, Guido is a Count and some of the portraits in the apartment are of family members from the mid-1800s). He also recommended a number of restaurants that are close by.

Parking: Although it is possible to arrive in Florence without a car, we chose to rent one. Parking in Florence does not appear to be easy and is not free. To park in a public parking-lot generally costs somewhere around 20-25 Euros per day. For 25 Euros per day, Guido allowed us to park in a private gated courtyard behind his building and gave us a remote control for opening the gate.

Location: After spending 5 days in Florence, it appeared to us that the Santa Croce part of the old town was probably the wealthy section of town centuries ago and is still one of the nicest areas. The buildings and each of their floors appear larger and nicer. The eastern side of Florence near the train station did not seem as nice. All of the tourist sites are within easy walking distance from the apartment and we did walk to most of them. There is also a bus stop directly in front of the apartment at which the electric buses stop – there are two electric bus routes each of which consists of a large loop though the old town and costs two euros – and we also used the buses on several occasions. Although the Plaza of Michaelanglo is best reached by car and offers a view that should not be missed.

We highly recommend staying at this apartment.
