Memorial Day weekend at Beachwalk has become a family tradition that we look forward to at the end of the long winter and the beginning of the glorious days of summer ahead!
Every year, my large group of adults and kids of all ages stays in a different house. Beachball has certainly become one of our favorites! The open floor-plan kitchen/dining/living room with soaring ceiling and access to a huge deck was perfect for our group to dine and relax together. All of the bedrooms were comfortable and beautifully decorated. We turned the tower room into extra sleeping space by requesting roll-aways from the office. The kids loved the basement where they played pool and ping-pong for hours and watched movies late in the evening on their own huge flat screen! This gave the adults time and space to unwind with a glass of wine and music in the living/dining room, while still being able to hear the kids if they needed anything.
The location is also ideal. Located on Lake Kai, the views were amazing and the kids loved the sand in front of the house. We enjoyed kayak rides on the lake and spent lots of time at the park. We even rented a golf cart for grandma to get around!!
The only down sides were minor. The outdoor space was pretty dirty. Perhaps since its the beginning of the season it hadn't been cleaned yet? We had to call the office to remove a bunch of garbage from the outdoor space, but they were very quick to respond. Also, the pool was freezing cold. In years past, it was heated and usable Memorial Day weekend even when the air temperature was in the low seventies. I'm not sure what changed this year.
Overall, I loved every minute of our stay. I absolutely can't wait for next year's visit!
