Here is a property for the person(s) who enjoys being in the woods, going for a long walks, getting on a mountain bike and enjoy a day in nature! It is located on a road less traveled. A dirt bumpy road at that! (No AWD needed, but a vehicle with plenty of clearance appreciated). So grab the family, that special someone or those great friends and drive over and enjoy a special time away! Located minutes from the Wonalancet Church. The first floor is open concept with plenty of windows. The kitchen is small but has plenty of cabinets, kitchen utensils and all the creature comforts to make a fabulous meal. Snuggle in front of the fireplace, or at the end of the day grab an ice cold drink and enjoy the peace and quiet of the area in the screened-in porch while enjoying supper on the grill. The television is for watching movies only, (no cable, internet or phone) your cell phone may get service. My Verizon works. The kitchen has a microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, and electric stove. There is a queen size Murphy bed on the lower level, a full in the loft along with two twin beds. Washer and Dryer.

About Kay

We purchased the land in 2003 and wanted to built a home where we could go to relax and enjoy my family. My husband and I have stressful careers and we wanted a place where we could enjoy our son without the distractions of the phone ringing and the television blaring. They hiked, mountain biked, walked, ran and used this property. It has been a great place to have 'family' time. I am happy to say that this home has allowed us to enjoy each other for who we are as individuals and as a whole. I hope you enjoy this place as much as we have and do.

Why Kay chose Tamworth

The minute we drove onto the we knew it was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the area. When we drove past the parcel, we came to the abutting property which had a mowed field and we saw the view... Mt Chocorua, Mt Passaconaway, Mt Paugus, and Mt Whiteface. We drove back to the parcel and took a walk down to the river and couldn't believe how undisturbed this area was and still is.

What makes this cottage unique

We live in the area and have seen so much being developed and neighborhoods being built, that this place was a refreshing reminder of 'nature' at its best.

I really love being able to get away and come to this place, it is quiet and peaceful. If you're an outdoors person, there are hiking trails right out your front door to the Wonalancet River, or take the Sanborn Brook to the waterfall. This area is great if you road bike or mountain bike, plenty of trails. A great location if you like going out for a leisure drive and want to explore down back roads. About forty minutes to North Conway for outlet shopping and fine dining. Cranmore Mountain has its own adventure park for the whole family. Head South thirty minutes and you're in the Lakes Region Area.

Great getaway!

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time! Pretty far from civilization (which we wanted) yet close to many wonderful hikes! The place was beautiful and well maintained, with endless kitchen supplies (we cooked up a storm that weekend!). There is a beautiful 3-season back porch (as shown in the picture) which was a great place to cuddle up with coffee and a book. There is a queen bed downstairs, but we found it was just too cold to sleep down there in mid-late October (the heater and fireplace are located on the main level), so we slept in one of the beds upstairs, which was cozy and warm.

The listing description was very accurate regarding layout and amenities, although it is important to note that the house is located on a bumpy, dirt road (which is not mentioned in the description), and I'm not sure how easy it would be to drive to it if the roads were icy/snow-covered (note: we were able to drive on it easily even in rainy weather).

All in all, a great place, and we will definitely be coming again next fall!

Great Biking and hiking by the river. You are out in the woods...coyotes call. We didn't see another person but felt like we had the woods/river to ourselves.
Day trip to NConway but was fun to come back to play games, watch videos....(no cable) Kitchen very well furnished. Nice evening restauratnt (The Chequers Villa - Tamworth, NH) and breakfast palce in Tamworth. Great weekend.
