A building contractor for most of my adult life, I now find myself semi-retired and able to enjoy some travel and freedom. My vacation rental business fits perfectly into my lifestyle, because it puts me in contact with others who like to explore new places and have the resources of time and money to follow through.. I also know from my travels what it is like to get to a destination and to have your pre-arranged accommodations wind up being a catastrophe... so my vacation rentals, while all being very different in personality and location, all provide a great value and are exactly as advertised...

Michael Green purchased this house in 1946

My father built the original house in 1947, and I bought it from my mother about 10 years ago as my primary residence when I move to Pennsylvania from Annapolis, Maryland after a long stint in the construction business there. I love this house with all my heart, and I have made major changes throughout the years, both outside and in. In the pictures you can see the huge addition that I built which contains my wood shop and below that a garage. However I was bitten by the travel bug a few years ago and so it seemed a better idea to rent the house to others who may also enjoy the incredible vibe the place has to offer.. so I get the best of both worlds.. when the house is not occupied I still get use of it, and I also get to share my love for the place with others. Now it all makes sense.

Where to begin? Where can you find a house with so much charm, surrounded by 9 acres of privately owned nature, with not just one but two spring fed mountain streams within a stones throw of the house, and yet still just 5 minutes outside of the quaint town of Palmerton where you can get every service you need for your time away. Add to this a fire pit which is only 25 feet from the stream, a nature trail, a huge wrap around porch with a Vermont Castings Grill.. this house would be impossible to duplicate in todays market.

This beautiful and special property far exceeded our expectations. Spacious, clean and we'll maintained property.Could not ask for a better location for our ski trip to Blue Mountain. Michael was an excellent host with great dedication to providing a comfortable experience and top notch service. Loved the soothing stream sounds around the property and the spacious outdoor area. We had a great stay at the Homestead! The owner thought of everything so the trip was effortless for us. The property is well cared for and the house is extremely clean. There was more than enough room for the 8 of us and we are looking forward to another mountain weekend at the Homestead next year!

Perfect Charming Cottage Getaway

I have rented many houses over the years and this one exceeded them all. From the charm, to the cleanliness to the thoughtfulness of the owner i.e. GPS to use, discounted tickets, maps, supplies, condiments, extra things (toothbrushes) etc. The house was so well equipped and cozy that after a day on the slopes it was the perfect place to unwind whether you sat on the window seat staring at the scenery(my favorite), cozied up on the couch, made dinner together in the kitchen, playing games around the table, sitting on the porch to soak in the quietness… there is something for everyone and plenty of comfy space to lay your head. (and this is before the addition is finished) The owner goes above and beyond with instructions, directions anything you need to make you feel right at home. The HOMESTEAD is a gem, I want to tell everyone, then again I might want to keep her a secret!! Having a Great space to undress after a day on the slopes and store your gear so it is warm the next morning was an amazing bonus. Michael was a pleasure to work with and genuinely cares about his visitors….even got it to snow for us TWICE!! ? Only thing lacking in this charmer was a GUEST BOOK (next time I will have to bring one for you) We loved reading the notes on the fridge though.
I would not hesitate renting any property from Michael… you can tell he loves what he does and takes pride in it. You will not be disappointed renting from him. The valley lodge to Blue Mountain is only 8 minutes away, but to get to the Summit lodge it is a few minutes longer up the access road… this house is in a great location, thank you Michael for sharing your Home with us and we wish you many renters with great memories like the ones we made.
P.S. the pictures don't capture the charm!! This is a must see everyone, you won't be disappointed!
Owner's Response: Thank you Dana, there is not much I can add to this :-) Families like yours make this business fun and rewarding because you soak in and appreciate all the attention to detail, much the same way I do when I travel. This house, along with my other two, are always a work in progress and with time, will steadily evolve. When my father built this house in 1947, I am sure he could never have foreseen the amount of pleasure it would someday give to so many. The guestbook is certainly something that has been on my "to do" list forever but simply has continually been moved down the priority list. I certainly hope you come back for a summer stay, when the property transforms into an almost tropical paradise.

Fabulous Ski House

We rented this house for the weekend to ski and it was fabulous! The pictures looked so great online but sometimes you can be surprised. It was so cute and cozy but plenty of room for our busy family of 6. We have rented a lot of houses in various locations for vacations and this one was the best equipped house by far. Everything you needed plus so many creature comforts were available. Also, sounds silly but the basement/mudroom area was huge and so great for dumping all your gear, coats, etc. etc. keeping the upstairs spacious and comfortable. We will definitely be back!
Owner's Response: I always enjoy when experienced travelers (those who have rented many other homes) take the time to make the comparisons between my homes and the ones they have rented before. I try to provide an upscale experience with lots of extras, and reviews like these show me that I am achieving my goals. The basement entrance/mudroom is a huge benefit because all the shoes, coolers, boots, and winter gear can be out of your living space but still indoors and warm. (nothing worse than putting on cold ski boots). Thank you for the wonderful review, and I hope you come back next year or for a Summer stay.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUl !!!!!

This property by far is the most breathtaking I've ever seen!!!
The house is so clean and everything you need is there.
As far as distance to Blue Mountain you can't get any better!!!
We arrived a day earlier because we heard snow was on the
way and the owner Michael was so accommodating .
We woke Thursday to find snow had really piled up and Michael
was there to clear the driveway to blacktop!!Our family came
with ease because there were no issues with snow.We are
already planning a trip back in the spring and summer.
Please take a trip to visit this beautiful home you will not
be disappointed with one thing!!!!!Thank You Michael for
allowing us to have the time of our lives at your BEAUTIFUL
home.
Sincerely,
The Grzeszczak Family
Owner's Response: Michael, thank you for taking the time to write such a great review. My opinion has always been that a vacation home should add value to anyones vacation, not just as a place to sleep, but as a place to build memories and let the stress of the world melt away, even if for only a few days. It's not easy to create an environment like that, but when someone appreciates it and then takes the time to write about it for others to read, that is the true reward for me. Your stay also coincided with our biggest snow of the year, so your timing was perfect to enjoy the winter wonderland that the property becomes in a snowstorm. I certainly hope you come back!
