About Jackie & Lorna Deveau

We grew up in Cheticamp, married in the beautiful Church that you will see from our property and plan to retire there in 2017. We were so happy to buy this home in February 2012. As a military family we currently live in Yellowknife, NT, but look forward to visiting Cheticamp each summer and enjoy our new home. We hope you love staying in our home as much as we do.

Why Jackie & Lorna Deveau chose Cheticamp

We consider this a piece of paradise especially since our family still lives in the area... it's coming home to us each time we visit it. We cannot wait to retire there!

What makes this house unique

We grew up looking at this home across the bay and can't believe that we now own it. We love everything from the private pond, the old school house, and the peaceful setting of our home. We will never get tired of looking out at the incredible scenery. We're very proud to offer you the experience of staying in our home and our village... this will be a vacation destination you will most definitely want to return to.

We decided to do the Cabot trail as a family getaway. We were 9 adults and 6 kids ( 2 toddlers & 4 babies). I searched for a perfect place that would accommodate our big group. I messaged this rental and got a very fast response which is appreciated. This is a perfect place to experience all that cape Breton and the Cabot trail has to offer. We were very comfortable and well received. It had everything that we needed for a good night stay. Very clean and very well maintain. The view absolutely fabulous. It's a truly a Gem. Very private and quiet. We would most definitely return without hesitation.

August Visit

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I stayed at this wonderful vacation rental this past summer. The view of Cheticamp village and the mountains was superb! This charming house is conveniently located close to all amenities in Cheticamp Village and a few minutes away from a gorgeous sandy beach and the entrance to the Highlands National Park.
The house itself was so clean and comfortable with lots of country charm. Everything you could want for a home away from home. It provides lots of privacy and hiking trails that start in the backyard!
I wish I was still sitting on the couch in the living room looking at the gorgeous views and feeling and smelling the ocean breeze. We can't wait to visit here and "get away from it all" again some day soon.
