Lake Arrowhead Cabin Rental Photos and Description

2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps 9 with forest view on back of cabin

Built in 1928. The home was one of the first homes on the street when it was originally built. The cabin has been completely restored making it one of the nicest and cleanest cabins on the mountain for its age. Open floor plan in the downstairs living and dining areas making it feel very roomy and cozy. The downstairs has oak flooring and tile throughout. All the upstairs has brand new carpet. Both bathrooms are tiled and you have an option of taking a bath in restored old fashioned claw foot tub or a shower in the upstairs bathroom. The house is located in a prime location 1 block off the main road making it very accessible in the winter snow and to all the various activities in the local community. Very large backyard with swing set, the back of house is against approx. 50 acres of virgin forest that can be enjoyed from the brand new wrap-around deck. Excellent hill in back yard for sledding in the winter snow. Views from the back patio area makes it feel very secluded and private.

Everything in the cabin is brand new including the brand new memory foam mattresses on the Queen and Twin Beds.

For your entertainment: The cabin has a 42 in. flat screen TV in the living room and 32 in. in upstairs master bedroom. Cable TV and wireless internet service. With the rental of our cozy cabin it includes rights to enjoy all the various Private Lake Arrowhead Beach Clubs (Summer Months).

About Kris Norlander

Our Cabin was built in 1928. This is my wife and my first home that we bought in 2000. The two of us got married in 2002 and started major renovations to the Cabin, including all new wood flooring, tile, insulation, electrical wiring and drywall. The Cabin was completely gutted and everything was replaced with new material. This was all done while we lived in it spending every weekend making repairs for 8 years. I would never recommend anyone to live in a home while doing the type of repairs we did. In 2006 we had our first set of twins (Boy and Girl) and two years later we were blessed with our second set of twins making the Cabin that we love feel very small. In 2010, we moved out of our Cabin to a larger home and rented out our Cabin full time for one year. In 2012, our little Cabin was converted into a Vacation Rental and everything has been restored again to a new condition once again.

Kris Norlander purchased this cabin in 2000

Why Kris Norlander chose Lake Arrowhead

My wife and I have lived in this area all of our life and would not live anywhere else in Southern California. It is a wonderful cozy little cabin that you will feel so comfortable in with all the amenities you would need to make it a perfect vacation location. We love our little Cabin and have taken so much pride in making it a home for us and have now invested time and efforts to make it a wonderful experience for you and your family. We hope that you enjoy your stay here and hope that everything is to your expectations.

What makes this cabin unique

People all across Southern California have driven up to our mountains every winter to enjoy the snow and sledding. Our cabin has some of the best sledding right in the backyard, plus the unoccupied 50 acres of forest right up against the cabin makes it a perfect place for the kids to get out and use all the built in energy. There is a local hiking trail directly in the backyard that is easily accessible.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We had a fabulous week in the cabin. We were able to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery and fresh mountain air. The kids loved the swing and slides out the back and we have enjoyed eating outside as this is something that we haven't had the pleasure of doing in Phoenix, AZ. as of yet. We explored lake arrowhead village, burnt mill beach, big bear lake and we even made a day trip to Disneyland, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. The cabin was wonderful and we will bring very happy memories back to Ireland when we return later this year.

Such a Great Experience

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was by far way better than we were expecting. This was the first time renting a cabin for the weekend we really didn't have high expectations and still we were amazed at how much better the experience was than getting a hotel in the city. The entire cabin smelled so nice when we first walked in and all throughout the weekend, made it seem so warm and cozy. Everything was clean and perfect for our stay, we will be recommending this property to our friends and family, and we will surely be back for another wonderful stay.

False Advertising. False Reviews

  • 1 of 5

PRIOR TO OUR STAY...

The Five Star Reviews Attracted Us.

The Jacuzzi was desirable.

Wifi was a huge plus.

We booked the place in September 2014.

FIRST RED FLAG. We had some questions about the price and the owner never got back to us after we booked the place.

DURING OUR STAY...

FALSE ADVERTISING. Upon arriving, the Jacuzzi had been removed. They never contacted us, nor gave us a discount for this. This is was the main reason why we stayed in this place as opposed to our alternative options.

BROKEN COFFEE-MAKER. The coffee maker broke and the owner came the same day to replace it with a new one.

FALSE ADVERTISING. When the owner came to replace the coffee maker, we asked about the Wifi, and he looked at us and said they haven't had it in some time. Yet, the website showed that it had it. Owner said he would take it down soon without any apology.

UNSAFE BACKYARD. There was lots broken glass where the kids played. This was a concern as we have two little kids below 2 playing in the backyard.

STAPLES ON STAIRS CUT US. We were sitting on the stairs and on two different occasions, the staples on the stairs stuck out and cut us! This has to be fixed.

BROKEN DOOR KNOB for upstairs bathroom. This made it very inconvenient for us and reduced our privacy.

LIGHT FIXTURE IN KITCHEN TOTALLY HANGING OFF. A a light filtering hanging off of the ceiling is very unsafe and can electrocute anyone in the house.

SOME STAIRWELL RAILING BROKEN. This is a huge safety hazard as our little ones could have fallen through the stairs, or seriously hurt their hand climbing up and down the stairs.

HALPHAZARDLY PUT-TOGETHER. We found a smoke detector with a battery right next to it... Odd? Yes! The Satellite TV Box was on top of a flipped over trash can with wires dangling everywhere.

AFTER OUR STAY...

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Owner has not contacted us back through email, text message or phone. We have tried to contact him at least five different times without any success. (We were trying to figure out our Cleaning Deposit...)

FALSE REVIEWS. Owner sent us two different email promising a $65 discount on our next stay if we wrote a five star review.

SHOULD YOU STAY IN THIS CABIN?

No. Who knows what else the owner has changed since our last stay, how much more of a discount he is giving to reviewers, and what else he intends on changing without updating the website. It's a gamble, but for the price he is charging, the owner would come out on top.

Cozy cabin

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed ourselves greatly in this cute, little cabin nestled between Lake Gregory and Lake Arrowhead. The cabin offers everything you need for a comfortable and restful stay. We enjoyed visiting all that the area had to offer from hiking, to shopping at Lake Arrowhead, to snow tubing, Big Bear Village, and the beautiful views. The DVD player runs very slow; might need to be replaced but other than that all worked well.

Awesome Cozy Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This was a last minute getaway for my family and I . The cabin is larger than we expected , great kids room , comfy queen bed , kitchen w/ all the amenities well bring a corkscrew for the wine . We found a nice sledding spot just off the back porch, warmed up by the fire pit after playing in the snow . Overall my family loved the stay at the Knorlander Cabin. We will book again !
