The centrally located, 7,000+ sq. foot home is on the main body of Lake Austin- the backyard touching the water’s edge. Just 10 minutes from downtown Austin, Zilker Park, Barton Springs, and many of Austin’s shopping and nightlife venues, this Lake Austin home is sure to please guests and cater to many occasions.

The backyard is host to a covered patio complete with a fireplace, gas grill, and a Big Green Egg BBQ unit. A dock, two piers, and a beach can also be found amongst many outdoor activities, including 3 stand-up paddle boards, two 12-foot Wilderness Systems kayaks, a 17-foot aluminum canoe, and a mooring buoy. Renting or supplying a boat brings about even more possibilities such as wakeboarding, skiing, tubing, and wake surfing on the lake. The large outdoor living space also caters to swimmers and sunbathers.

The lake house is located less than a mile from a public boat ramp at the 360 Loop foot bridge, a popular place where Austinites hike up towards the cliffs over Lake Austin, often to catch glimpse of gorgeous Texas sunsets. Also for this purpose, guests can travel to Mt. Bonnell, just a quick 5 minutes away past the Dry Creek Saloon, a favorite Austin staple. The property is less than ten minutes from Zilker Park and Barton Springs Pool, where locals enjoy the natural springs, fantastic hiking and jogging trails wrapped around Lady Bird Lake, complimentary live music in the park, and many restaurants pristine to Austin, including Chuys, Shady Grove, Hula Hut, Uchi’s, and more.

About TurnKey Vacation Rentals

A Texas native, I grew up in South Texas and spent some of my childhood in the beautiful Texas Hill Country swimming in the Guadalupe and camping out under the stars. Unfortunately I wasn't born in Austin but I got here as fast as I could. I could eat Tex-Mex for 'almost' every meal, like my margaritas frozen, got to do the first full Ironman in the state of Texas last year, and I love to SUP, wake surf, run, start companies, have coffee out by the lake, and spend time with friends and family.

Why TurnKey Vacation Rentals chose Austin

You can't find many large lakefront properties this close to town that are on the West side of the lake so the sun isn't setting in your face and are located a step back in time in an older era neighborhood that has a park-like feel to it and are actually on the main body of the lake at the level of the lake! Many 'lake-front' homes you will find listed on HomeAway are not actually on the main lake at all. They are back in coves or canals limiting your enjoyment of the lake. Many are also up on cliffs that require you to carry all of your stuff up and down (and up and down) 40-60 feet of stairs to actually hop in the lake, take the group out on the boat, sit by the water, or even have a decent view of the water.

What makes this estate unique

The elevator really came in handy within the first month of buying the property as my mother-in-law had knee replacement surgery and she was able to stay with us and recover but have her own space in the upstairs attached 2/1 apartment. But no question what we fell in love with on this property was the lake and the yards (front and back)!

The home is located less than a mile from a public boat ramp at the Loop 360 Bridge - which is also a place many folks go to park on the north end of the bridge and take a very short hike up to the edge of the cliffs over lake Austin to watch gorgeous Texas sunsets. People also go to Mt Bonnell to do this, which is another five minutes away and you will pass by an old Austin staple, the Dry Creek Saloon. We are less than ten minutes from Zilker Park and Barton Springs Pool and everything that has to offer - the springs, an amazing hiking/jogging trail around Ladybird Lake, the free concerts in the park, and a bunch of Austin original restaurants including Chuys, Shady Grove, the Hula Hut, Uchi's and many more. But why leave? Get on the lake!! You can Stand-Up Paddle board (SUP), kayak, canoe, swim, float, or sunbathe. Or rent a boat or bring your own and tie it off to the mooring buoy and and go ski, wakeboard, tube, wake surf, and grab food and drinks at one of the many restaurants accessible by boat, or just take a sunset cruise.

For outside, it has 5 Stand-Up Paddle boards (SUPs), 5 sit on top kayaks and, 1 - 17 foot long aluminum canoe, a beach, a mooring bouy, a fishing pier, a very large front yard to land a helicopter or play a game of football or ultimate Frisbee. Inside you'll find a Stern Rollercoaster pinball game, a Super Chexx bubble hockey, a Tornado Fooz table, air hockey and a dart board, and several large flat screen TVs with cable. The home has two full kitchens (the main kitchen downstairs and a full kitchen upstairs) and 1.5 laundry rooms (1 laundry room and 1 laundry closet with a stacked full-size W/D). The home also has an elevator.
