House, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 8-10)

The house, a quiet private setting, is located on the East Bay of beautiful Houghton Lake. The property is nicely shaded with 50' of private lakefront with dock. Enjoy the sunsets from the lakeside sun room.

Inside the 2700 square foot house you will find two gas fireplaces, a fully furnished kitchen, four bedrooms, a large living room, and a beautiful sun room overlooking the lake. The dining room is large enough for everyone to eat together. Fresh linens and towels are included. The house comfortably sleeps eight with room for more. The house has plenty of living space for two families to vacation together. If you need more space, inquire on our optional adjacent lakefront guest house. Some of the amenities include large flat screen television with VCR, DVD and cable service, wireless Internet, microwave, stove, refrigerator, oven, and coffee maker.

Enjoy the lakeside fire pit and barbecue grill. Call early to reserve the best weeks, they go fast!

Awsome Family Vacation

We had a wonderful time at this property. The house was very comfortable, with enough bedrooms for the whole family, including several dogs and a 2 year old grandson. The location is very quiet and peaceful and the lake is incredible. The location is also within an hour and a half drive to Traverse City and Gaylord and just a bit farther to Mackinaw Island, so there is lots to do. We would highly recommend this rental.

Owner's Response: We are so lucky that we have such awesome guests! I can't believe the amazing, sweet people that have visited the House on Houghton Lake. We are truly blessed to have people come back again and again. The House was beautiful before, but now it is truly Splendid with a new kitchen, new livingroom, new lake side sunroom furniture, new carpet, new paint, new bedding, and just a brand new fresh feel. I am excited for you to see all the improvements! Remember, the House on Houghton Lake is available all year round, even for long weekends in the fall and winter. See you soon!

Great Fall Getaway!

I'd like to keep this one a secret, but my conscious won't allow it. This is a jewel of a vacation getaway! We went up to see the Fall colors are were treated to a beautiful sunny weekend in the 70's. We called Shelley an hour out and she had one of her brand new 22' pontoon boats on the dock by the time she got done showing us around the house. We spent a day and a half on the lake and we plan to go back in the Summer and rent both the house and boat for a week.

The property is in a great neighborhood sandwiched between beautiful homes and the house is a tri-level allowing for separation if you come in a group. It is spacious, comfortable and well maintained. We brought our dog and he had the time of his life chasing the chipmunk that lives under the paddleboat platform. The chipmunk won. Anyway, we closed out the weekend with a small bonfire while watching the sunset on the lake. It was the best weekend ever and we can't wait to return.

Amazing time in Houghton Lake!

I had my first experience of Northern Michigan winters visiting the House on Houghton Lake and it was better than I ever imagined! It was so perfect for all 9 of us. It is a huge house and we all had a bunch of gear for snowmobiling and ice fishing and there was plenty of room for it all. When we checked in, all the lights were on and there were fires going in both the fireplaces, it made us feel so welcome! We seriously had one of the best vacations ever, and we will be going back this year as well. The snowmobiling is the best! There are over 90 miles of perfectly groomed trails. The House was spotless and the lady that owns it was very helpful and just about as nice as they come. Thanks again for everything!

It felt just like home!

We just got back home from our trip to Houghton Lake. I had no idea the lake was so big! The house was even better than the pictures show. We walked into the house and we just relaxed. There was a beautiful arrangement of fresh flowers on the table and the home was spotless. It is my dream to own my own home on Houghton Lake some day, but for now we will visit our home away from home. We already are making plans to go back next year.

It was the best vacation our family every had! We rented both the big house and the cabin guest house and had a family reunion. The beds are very nice and being right on the lake is so special. We already reserved our week for this summer and plan on coming for as long as we can.
