We love this place. We live in Miami and use the condo when we want to get out of the city and into the serene and clear water. Believe it or not, it's cooler on the island than it is in Miami for most of the year.
There are honestly no words for the sunsets. As many photographs as we've taken, we continue to take more. The colors just go beyond words.
Kim purchased this condo in 2005
Spectacular views, casual lifestyle, gated community, private, airy and comfortable. And...it's US Territory (no passport required!!).
Please note we completely remodeled the kitchen and bathroom, and installed a 'split' air conditioner in 2012. So any problem with the bedroom no longer being cool is over. We've stayed there on some of the hottest days of the year in quiet comfort.
The snorkeling right outside the condo is some of the best on the island. Multiple species of tropical fish. Nearby diving off Frederiksted pier.
A friend and I stayed here for nine days in Jan-Feb 2015, and we loved it. We chose Frederksted because snorkeling on the west end of the island isn't impeded by sea grass (which can be a problem elsewhere). And we chose this condo because it's right on the beach...literally steps from some great snorkeling and swimming! Plus it's a small complex, off the beaten path, very quiet and well maintained, with a beautiful pool from which you can watch the fabulous sunsets. But it's also not far from a variety of nice beaches, bars, good food, occasional live music (ie Reggae band), shops, and other small town amenities, as well as a large supermarket within driving distance. You can get by without a car, but we rented a jeep and felt it was worth the expense for shopping and checking out the rest of the island. Ours was a completely positive experience, but here are some things to consider when booking: the condo is on the 3rd floor (so has stairs), there's a spectacular view from the screened in veranda (but the proximity to the crashing surf means it's loud at night), and there's just one AC unit in the bedroom (but with the trade winds, we never actually needed it). Also, when they say "just bring your bikini" they mean it! We way overpacked. The condo has towels, shampoo/conditioner/soap, hair dryer, kitchen stuff, sugar, coffee, seasonings, some beach stuff, and more. No need to dress up, unless you want to. There's a washer/dryer/detergent on site. Bring your own mask and fins for snorkeling, tho. Wear sunscreen and hat! Our favorite day trip was on Captain Lew's catamaran for snorkeling and swimming on Buck Island (east side of the island). Lew and his "first mate" David are funny and laid back...not touristy at all. Lew is actually a musician, a cool cat who lived and recorded in New York years ago, and still plays local venues (currently at Cheeseburgers in Paradise). The snorkeling at Buck Island was good, but we saw essentially the same creatues right in front of our own condo, albeit in lesser numbers. Also, Lew let us shower at the yacht club after, so were desalinated enough to check out C'sted (Christiansed) before heading back to F'sted. Lew recommended lunch at Kim's (he's friends with the family), and it was good, authentic Caribbean food...I got the fresh local grouper. C'sted is more upscale and tourist oriented than F'sted, but both were nice in their own way, and local folks are friendly and helpful if you make the initial effort.
We enjoyed a lovely week in your spacious and well kept condo! Lots of snorkeling, sunsets to watch and an overall relaxing and peaceful time. The condo was in our favorite part of the island and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The owner gave great instructions and was very responsive to our questions. We plan to return and would not hesitate staying here again. Thanks for the great week!
Condo building and amenities are great. We loved the beach near the condo and the condo's location on the island in general. Unit is functional, but only has an internal "air conditioner" on wheels for the bedroom. You really can't use this device to cool the whole place, because air blows in from the veranda. In late April/early May, the "air conditioner" is really ineffective between noon and six. It is quite possible that may places in STX don't offer full air conditioning. I just think it should be disclosed. That being said, I would probably stay here again, but my wife would not.
Casinos; Snorkeling right outside the condo or at Buck Island National Park (unbelievable!!), diving the wall at Cane Bay, or just lying in the soft sand outside the condo.
