Waynesville Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Lodge, 5 Bedrooms, 3 Baths (Sleeps 12-14)

UNDER NEW MANGEMENT! We are happy to be part of Premier Vacations rentals, with a new emphasis on giving our guests a clean and wonderful experience here. From the moment you arrive at Watersong you'll feel the tensions ease away. Two acres of naturalized mountain landscaping with mountain laurels, black eyed Susan, and bountiful wildflowers bounded by a spring fed stream in a cascade of little waterfalls chuckle and murmur as they lull you to sleep each night. Separated from the world by your own grove of white pine and hardwoods yielding to a sweet view of the valley and Hemphill Mountain. Stroll through the grounds and you'll find all sorts of wonders - follow the stream down to the picnic area and fire-pit great for a family cookout. Further up the stream you'll discover a bench by the water perfect for sneaking off for a read or a break from the crew.

Watersong's spacious vaulted great room is an excellent place to gather the gang for movie time, story time by the stone hearth fireplace, or a friendly game of poker on the provided Texas hold'em table with full professional chip set while you gamble for cleanup duties tomorrow. Two teak dining tables let you configure for family buffets, country style sit-down dinners, or return to the kiddy table and the 'grownups'. Wrought iron seating for 12, beautiful cobalt settings for many more, artisan flatware and linens make dinner a delight for all, and the large kitchen with lots of counter space, cookware and a stockpot that could feed pasta to an army - make cooking together a joy.

The master suite features a large walk-in closet, walk-in shower, and iron frame queen bed with flat screen TV and the sound of the brook will soothe you to sleep anytime. Another queen bedroom with iron frame and moose accents lies across, with two double beds and skylight featuring a moose theme in the third upstairs bedroom. The second bath up serves the great room and bedrooms two and three.

On the way downstairs you'll find the lending library with loads of books for you to enjoy - anywhere, anytime. Downstairs is the second living area, set up specially for the kids with a game ready TV and DVD player as well as a Foosball table. Start your day in the mountains with a workout on the Total Gym machine, and finish with a soak in the new hot tub while enjoying the view from the downstairs deck/porch area, or stage a burger bonanza on the big gas grill. You'll also find a large queen bedroom with two closets and built-in ironing board, as well as the kid's room with a bunk set and futon featuring their own TV and DVD set. The utility room has large capacity washer and dryer for you to use so you can travel a bit lighter. The third bath is here also, with a full size tub/shower fed by a high capacity water heater. You'll love wandering up Max Patch for a most incredible 360 view of the Smokies, popping over to Cataloochee to see the elk and fish the wild streams. Fishermen can relax in Johnathan Creek just down the hill (I caught a 24' rainbow there this fall) behind Cajun's shack, or travel to the famous Davidson River for giant browns, or trophy waters in Cherokee. We're only 10 minute from the Wheels Through Time museum, subject of an excellent TV series this year. Around the corner, Queen's stables can take you up top on horseback for an easy escape, and lazy ride over the mountains. Our guests can shop in Maggie or Waynesville, find an incredible arts and music scene in Asheville, spend an afternoon cruising the Blue Ridge Parkway, visit the Pisgah Inn for a breathtaking view over an amazing dinner, or just curl up with someone special down by the creek while the family does their own thing. As they say, so much to do, so little time...

Close to everything, but away in a world of it's own - Watersong tenants who stay here make it a habit. Find out why our guests leave such great comments and return year after year.

We rented this cabin for the Presidents Day Weekend 2013. We brought 4 families together and we were extremely disappointed in the upkeep. Although the cabin is spacious with 5 bedroom it was very outdated. The carpet was dirty and several dead bugs laying around as though it hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. I would guess it's at least 20 yrs old and it's in need of replacing. The furniture in the bedrooms had a layer of dust on it. The kitchen, although well equipped had mouse dropping in almost every drawer or cabinet we opened. We had to clean all dishes, pots and pans before we used anything. We had small children in our group and were mortified about letting them crawl around or even get out of our sight because of what was laying around. We stopped by the realty office on Sat. because the main sink was backed up and a realtor working left a message for someone in the rental department and we never heard from anyone. We then filled out a comment card when we checked out regarding the issues we encountered and still haven't heard from anyone. Extremely disappointed and would hesitate to rent this property or through ReMax in Maggie Valley again. I would rate this property and experience a 3 out of 10.

Owner's Response: Our new agents and the crew from Premier vacation Rentals will be doing a much better job than the representatives we had before.Starting this spring our home is under new management and will be even more of a beautiful and CLEAN place for you and your family to stay.We are very sorry for your experience! The unit was cleaned on the 13th, two days prior to your arrival. I was in the home a few weeks before your stay and found the place clean and well kept then. The guests who stayed the prior month enjoyed their stay, and we even had new furniture delivered to replace a problem then. The realtor had a serviceman call immediately after being informed of the sink and was told by the tenant that it was the garbage disposal which had now been drained and that all was fine. The person whom they spoke with then was pleased and said they did not require service at that time. The realtor has reviewed the comment card which was more positive about the stay and found on the card nothing which needed a followup from them. If there was any confusion about the service communication within the group we apologize and hope your next vacation is as wonderful as many of our guests have found our home.

Visited week of July 11th. The home could be nice if it were properly maintained. We spent the first day cleaning the house prior to the rest of the family arriving. You were greeted at the front entrance with a porch that had not been swept in awhile & a face of several cobwebs covering the porch. Entering the house was a strong musty smell through-out the house (especially the bottom area of the house). The bathrooms needed the hair removed from the drains & bathtubs. The back porch needed a good sweeping, knock down all the webs, clean the table and get all the debris out of the chairs. the hot tub area & grill were so dirty we did not even try to use this area. we finally found the horse shoe pits after a couple days (cut the grass a little around this area at least). The fire-pit area was nice except for the picnic table that should be used for firewood; how much does a nice picnic table cost??? The best touch was the mouse droppings under the kitchen sink & counter top. This house was probably nice at one time but several months of not properly maintaining, cleaning or replacing improper kept items has made it a place you would not want to visit.

The home was beautiful and perfect for us. We were a group of geology students doing work in the area and it was nice to be able to cook a meal spend a lot of time together in the hot tub. It was further out in the mountains than we expected but the privacy was nice. It didn't quite comfortably sleep 14 but we made it work. I would defiantly recommend this to any group that wants to escape into the mountains.

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed your stay! Usually we factor some kids into the 14 sleepers, so the bunks really fit them better, but the 5 large beds and the futon allow plenty for around 10 or 12 adults. We hope you come again to our mountain home, and found some things of interest while you were working there!
