We've completely redone this home. New flooring, cabinetry, window coverings, furnishings and decor. Clean and efficient home in Carson Valley, Nevada - a beautiful valley on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Lake Tahoe is just 25 minutes away. Our home is located in Gardnerville and is a 1257 SF, 3 Bedroom, 2 Bath, 2 Car Garage single family home. There is sleeping for up to eight (8). Laundry room with newer washer & dryer. Kitchen has quartz countertops, all new large and small appliances including microwave. Refrigerator has water filtration system. Dining table seats 6 with adjacent counter seating for 3. We provide Cable TV, Wireless Internet, DVD Library, games for kids and adults. You’ll have everything you need for a quiet, comfortable and affordable stay. This is a No-smoking / No pets property. If you are not familiar with the Carson Valley it is where the west coast meets the wild west and where the high desert meets high alpine. Within a small radius, you’ll experience adventure, world-class entertainment, historical sites, winter and summer sports, galleries, shopping, gaming, crystal beaches, museums, reservation-worthy restaurants and so much more. We are offering our home as a place for you and your family to come “home” to after a big day (or night) out or to simply relax in because you 'just needed to get away and “unwind”. About Donna Hook

Our family (5 children) moved to the Carson Valley in 1992 from LA. While still in LA we stopped at a 'For Sale by Owner' in the San Fernando Valley to get a feel for what our home's value was. The property owner said she was moving to - Gardnerville, Nevada. We'd never heard of Gardnerville, Nevada. She showed my husband a photo of Gardnerville and he was impressed. I did not see it but later said, 'Really, honey, who wants to live in a town that ends with 'ville'? Short story is we knew we needed to rescue our five children from the LA Unified School District so we came up for a short exploratory visit. That's all it took! We sold our home and bought house in Minden as well as a duplex in Gardnerville. My husband, Bob, is an electrical contractor. I am a real estate broker and property manager. This valley and the community has been very good to our family. We love it here! If you have never experienced the 'Magical Carson Valley' we encourage you to see what this area has to offer.

Why Donna Hook chose Gardnerville

Purchasing this property was really a fluke. It had been a rental for many years. When the property owner brought it to my property management company it was very run down. This spring (2012) when the owner decided to sell it rather than fix it up. I suggested to my husband that we purchase it and fix it up ourselves (yikes!). It was a lot of work to be sure, but in the end it turned out really nice. So everything...I mean everything is new. New cabinetry, flooring, fixtures, lighting, furniture and decor. I take that back...one piece of furniture is not new. It is a bunk bed that we bought at Costco when our children were little. It has a twin on top, a double mattress underneath it and a twin trundle that slips below them both. It brings back wonderful memories of a house full of children.

What makes this house unique

This home is in a large development close to everything you may need. Just seconds from US Hwy 395 (which will be your starting point for all of the events and attractions you'll want to see or places you'll want to go). Three grocery stores are very close. This home is not fancy nor elegant. It does not have a fireplace or Jacuzzi tub. It is, however, very functional and clean. The high-pitched ceiling gives it an open feeling. The kitchen has plenty of cabinets and counter space (quartz counter tops). All appliances are new (dishwasher, microwave, stove and refrigerator w/ ice maker and water filtration system). There is a 52' flat screen TV in the living room and a smaller one in the master bedroom. Cable, wireless internet, DVD library are included. Washer and dryer in laundry room are for your use. With so much to do in the area, it will be a quiet and welcoming place to come 'home' to at the end of an adventurous day. SLEEPING: California King in the Master Bedroom. Twin trundle bed in 2nd bedroom (sleeps 2). Triple bunk in 3rd bedroom (sleeps 3-4). The small yard is fenced and safe for children. It is also grassed with a nice shady tree, a BBQ and patio furniture. We look forward to your arrival. Bob and Donna

Wow...what a wonderful place to stay! This home was clean, quiet and so very comfortable. The photos and descriptions are accurate, but they do not do justice to the care and thought owners, Bob and Donna, have put into this place. Every square inch of the home is tastefully decorated and extremely well maintained. The owners have not skimped on anything that would make their guests feel welcomed, and even spoiled! From the high quality beds, the luxurious linens, plush carpets and well stocked kitchen, upgrades are everywere you look. We feel so fortunate that we found this lovely home on the VRBO website. Bob and Donna were great to work with. They are friendly, professional and showed a great desire to provide an enjoyable stay for their guests. If you are looking for accommodations in the Carson Valley or Tahoe area, I encourage you to book this home immediately. You will not be disapointed!
