Ala Mahina, my Artiest Retreat on the 'BEST PRIVATE BEACH' in Laie is back up and available. I am located in-between Polynesian Cultural Center and Laie Shopping Center. Hidden is a well secluded, private white sandy beach with no coral or rocks. This beach is approximately 80 feet

from lanai door. This is a 1 bedroom home fully equipped piece of paradise! If your looking for tranquility and privacy you can't go wrong. Yard lights to find your way to a moon lit swim PLUS the full moon AND sun rise can be experienced from your living-room window, back lanai. EVERYTHING is supplied for all in house needs; full cook-ware, dishes, toaster, blender, mixer, coffee, iron, washer/dryer, beach-towels, cable T.V., VCR, stereo, if you can't find it i'll have it, (my home is on the same acre WITH NO neighbor's within 150 feet).

Fun and comfortable cottage

We loved our stay in this fun cottage. Just steps to the most beautiful private beach on Oahu. Lelia and Michael helped us to feel right at home. We loved that it was so close to everything - grocery store, restaurants, Polynesian Cultrual Center, BYU Hawaii, the LDS Temple, beautiful beaches, and so much more. If you are an artist you will love this cottage with its many beautiful paintings and gorgeous antique furniture.

Private Paradise

We recently stayed at this very private property and we absolutely loved it. Micheal and Lelia were so friendly and helpful. We loved their backyard and the beach is wonderful. Clean sandy beach and beautiful water. Loved listening to the waves. The house was very charming, and the bed is very comfortable. We enjoyed cooking meals in their well stocked kitchen. The location is great, close to lots of great spots for snorkeling, really good places to eat local food, and quiet beaches. We had a wonderful time and we will definately be back.

One of a Kind Beach Cottage

Right on the beach... private... all to ourselves.
Cute cottage with all the comforts of home.
Whimsical, adventurous art all throughout the cottage and yard.
And if you are lucky enough, you may be invited to the main house for the art tour.
Michael (artist) and Lelia are wonderful hosts.

I would definitely recommend this property to all.

Best Place to Recharge

If you're looking for the beauty of Hawai'i without all the touristy noise, look no further. This little house is like a home away from home. It was clean and lovely with all of the fun art that decorates the inside and outside of the home. The house is also situated so that there is a cool ocean breeze day and night which kept the place at a comfortable temp. If you're into yoga, the yard is perfect with a grassy lawn with Bodhisattvas and the calming sound of waves on the beach. Also, it's so nice to have a full kitchen to cook (or grill) our food and not rely on restaurants for every meal. Our hosts were absolutely charming and available whenever we needed them, without being intrusive.

The beach here is absolutely perfect. Just see the pictures. There is a huge sand-bottom area which would be perfect for kids. There's also reed further out which made for some amazing snorkling. Tons of fish and turtles. We also saw Hawaiian Monk seals lying on the beach without a care in the world. Not kidding! None of the crowd like Waikiki. There was a maximum of maybe 4 other people on the entire stretch of beach at any given time.

We had the best time and it was a much needed recharge from the hustle of Los Angeles. We're staying here whenever we are on the island. I can't thank the owners enough!!!

Surprise in Laie

We were not sure of what we had gotten into when we first arrived. I guess we thought it was going to be castle on the beach. Boy, were we surprised; it's NOT the castle on the beach, it is NOT a glorious great house on the beach….it is a cozy beach cabin that we found absolutely amazing and wonderful. The two of us fell in love with the place after a few hours of taking in all the beauty and warmth of the place. Every morning at the beach watching the sunrise……going to bed each night listening to the surf. We wanted a peaceful quiet place and we found it. Nobody on the beach but us except one Sunday there was a family down a ways. We did not want to leave and we will be coming back. We didn’t want to do anything other than small little excursions and treat ourselves to the multiple shrimp shacks. There were days we didn’t go anywhere but just stayed, relaxed and enjoyed our privacy. I can’t recommend this place enough……fantastic hosts Michael and Leila. Thank you for our great stay.
